Our Association was formed in 1978 and comprises people who are descended from François Violet/Violette. Rita Violette Lippé (VFA #1) is the founder of the Association and she did the original genealogical research which forms the basis of membership in the Association. Membership in the Violette Family Association is open to anyone who is descendant of Francois Violet, even if your surname is not Violette. Spouses and children are also eligible for membership. There is no cost to join.

Our genealogical database is constantly growing, thanks to the efforts of Peter Violette (VFA #1793), our current Genealogist. The Violette Family Tree is searchable at this site – go to Genealogy/FamilyTree.

This web site also provides you the ability to be added to the Violette Family Tree if you are not there already and are eligible. It is easy if you can find your ancestors in the Violette Family Tree; you then just have to show our Genealogist how you are related to that/those ancestor(s). If you can’t find an ancestor in the current Violette Family Tree you need to provide our Genealogist with information about how you relate to the Violettes.
