The Descendants of Francois Violet was written by Rita Violette Lippe (VFA #1) and published in 1984. The original hardcover book has been out of print since 2008. The current versions were created by permission from scans of the contents of the original book. No changes have been made in the electronic version. The softcover version has a few corrections made and recorded on an errata page added at the rear of the book. You are encouraged to report needed corrections to President@VioletteFamily.org. New versions of the softcover book will be issued on occasion, containing accumulated corrections.

A Violette History is an original work written by David A. Violette (VFA #621), Guy Dubay (VFA #589), and Rod Violette (VFA #12). It traces the history of Francois Violet from his grandparents Louis Viollet and Marie Doux through his parents Charles Violet and Marie David in France and the move of his family to Fortress Louisbourg on Cape Breton Island in 1749. Francois later moved to pioneer lands along the Hammond River in southern New Brunswick around 1770 then moved again to pioneer lands in the Upper St John River Valley around 1789. The book covers the period from 1690 through roughly 1831.
