    Sep 1940.
    Graduated from Sandhurst Military College as Lt. having won the Belt
    of Honour as the top graduate.
    He was seriously wounded in France in 1944 acting as a tank
    commander.
    Spent several years in hospital recovering from his wounds.
    He is buried in the "Field of Honour" in Montreal.

    Finished nurse's training in Chatham in 1939. Worked at Hotel Dieu for about one year. Then went to work in Halifax.
    Joined the army in 1942. Shipped over to England in 1943. Went to Normandy shortly after D-Day. Followed the Canadian troops through France, Belgium, Holland and Germany.
    Returned to Canada in 1945.
    Worked in military hospital in Montreal where she met her future husband.
