    DIANE L VIOLETTE SKOWHEGAN — Diane Lyftn Violette two yeans old died friday night at a local hospital following a long illness. She was born in Skowhegan March 28 1959 the daughter of Leonard and Maybell Adams Violette. She is survived by her parents three sisters Carol Ann Violette Gail Marie Viotette and Darlene Rae Violette all of Skowhegan the paternal grandparents Mr and Mrs Edmund Violette Skowhegan the maternal grandparent Mr and Mrs Lionel Adamsi East Madison and several uncle and aunts. Funeralservices will be held Monday at 2 p m at the Lord Funeral Home, Interment will be in South Side Cemetery.

    SKOWHEGAN -- Leonard E. "Buster" Violette, 79, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 19, 2007, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

    Buster was born in Fairfield on April 11, 1928, the son of Herbert E. and Grace E. (Rowe) Violette. He graduated from Skowhegan High School in the class of 1945.

    Buster was employed for more than 30 years by the Kennebec Log Driving Company and was the foreman for the last log drive in the nation in 1976. After the log drive ended, Buster worked as a forklift operator at Woodtek in North Anson until his retirement in 1993.

    On July 16, 1949, Buster married the love of his life, Maybell P. Adams, and shared 57 happy years with her. Buster and Maybell enjoyed many years of square dancing together as members of Arnold Trail Squares of Skowhegan and Marty's Workshops of Fairfield. They traveled across the country and to Spain, dancing. Buster loved fishing for brook trout and was also an avid sports fan, following the Boston Red Sox and his grandchildren's sports teams. Working in his gardens and spending time with his family were his passions. One of his favorite spots was his camp at Ironbound Pond. He especially enjoyed custard pie and pistachio ice cream!

    Besides his parents, Buster was predeceased by two daughters, Diane Lynn and Kimberly Jean; his sisters, Norma Violette, Beverly Lord, and Eleanor Walker; and his brother, Lawrence "Larry" Violette.

    Buster is survived by his wife, Maybell; his daughter, Carol and her husband, Roger Jarvais, of Skowhegan and their children Karen, Kevin, Doug, Chris, and Kregg; his daughter, Gail, and her husband, Mike Pooler, of Skowhegan and their children, Jeremy and Jarrod; his daughter, Darlene and her husband, Chris Hilton of Skowhegan and their children Chris, Michele and Ashley; his daughter, Robin and her husband, Rick Florence, of Tolland, Conn., and their children, Madison and Camryn; and his sister, Rita Leo of Skowhegan. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
