    VAN BUREN - Anne Marie Violette, 100, entered into rest Monday, May 22, 2017, at a Van Buren healthcare facility. She was born April 11, 1917 in Cyr Plt., a daughter of the late Odilon and Laura (Lajoie) Deveau.
    She worked in the cafeteria of Van Buren schools for over 15 years, where she was widely known for her handmade lemon, peanut butter, and cinnamon rolls. Anne was also a former Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, a 4-H Girls leader, and current member of American Legion Auxiliary. A lifelong parishioner of St. Bruno-St. Remi Church, she was a Eucharistic Minister, a volunteer for Funeral Mercy Meals, a member of Third Order of Mary, and a member of The Link of the Living Rosary. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and praying for others. Many memorable times were spent at Long Lake camps and home with family and friends.
    She is survived by: two children, Valerien Violette and his wife Maxine of Belmont, NH, and Rene Violette and his wife Rena of Grand Isle; one brother, Rev. Adhemar Deveau of Tewksbury, MA; two sisters, Delores Keither of Adamstown, MD, and Della Martin of Van Buren; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
    Besides her parents, Anne is predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Valerien Violette, a brother, Albeo Deveau, five sisters, Sr. Ludwina Deveau, St. Mary's Order, Adrienne Falk, Sr. Therese Deveau, SMSM, Estelle Deprato, and Sr. Hermine Deveau, SMSM.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on 10 a.m. on Friday, May 26, 2017, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Relatives and friends may greet the family Friday morning 8:30-9:30 a.m. at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Burial will be in Grand River Cemetery, Van Buren.
