    NORMAN CAMPBELL PATTEN, Nov. 27 Norman Campbell, 53, died Sunday night at the Madigan Hospital, after a very brief illness. He was born In Patten, the son of Fred and Mary Campbell. In early manhood he married Miss Katherine Violette of Lille, and for a number of years they made their home in that section of the state, where Mr. Campbell operated a lumber mill. Eight years ago they returned to Patten and purchased the Melvin Leslie property on the Shin Pond road. After his return, Mr. Campbell was connected with the pulp and lumber business until the opening of the CCC camp. He was a foreman in charge of a crew working in out-lying districts, until the personnel of the camps was cut down in the spring of this year. Mrs. Campbell died some time ago and later Mr. Campbell married Mrs. Mary Gilbert of Eagle Lake, who survives him. He also leaves three - sons and, three daughters. Cyrus and Walter Campbell of Patten, and Ruel Campbell of Lowell, Mass. Mrs. Winnifred Hayes of Houlton, Mrs. Mabel Myrick of this town and Miss Esther Campbell of New York city. He is also survived by two brothers, Israel and Roscoe Campbell, both of Patten, and two sisters, Mrs. Marne Boynton of Howland and Miss Charlotte Campbell of Bangor. A high mass of requiem was said in St. Pauls church on Thursday morning. Rev. Joseph Martin of Island Falls, celebrant. The bearers were his sons, Cyrus, Walter and Ruel Campbell, and a brother, Roscoe Campbell. Among those here from out of town were Miss Charlotte Campbell of Bangor, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hayes of Houlton, Ruel Campbell of Lowell, Mass., and Miss Esther Campbell of New York City.
