1116 | David Francis Violette, 67, of Lewiston, Maine died unexpectedly at Central Maine Medical Center on July 15, 2016. He was born in Lewiston, Maine on June 4, 1949, son of Muriel (Fortin) Violette and Lionel Violette. He was predeceased by his father in 1986. David was educated at St. Patrick’s School where he served as an altar boy; and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1967. He continued his education at St. Francis College (University of New England) in Biddeford, Maine and Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, New Hampshire. He was a life-long student of nature and the environment and had a passion for and encyclopedic knowledge of the natural world. David was an expert woodsman and fly fisherman whose favorite fishing spots included the Kennebago, Narraguagus, and Nezinscot Rivers and Aziscohos Lake. He tied his own flies and shared many of these with his friends. His flies have been described by those who know and appreciate the art of fly tying as “soulful and beautifully executed”. David is survived by his mother Muriel Violette of Kennebunkport; sisters Susan Violette and Nancy Violette of Kennebunkport and Ann Violette of Lewiston; aunt Lorraine (Fortin) Johnsen of Lewiston; brother-in-law Stephen Couture of Kennebunkport; niece Sarah Couture of Kennebunkport; and daughter Heather Violette. | Violette, David Francis (P86021)

He was one of the owners of Morin Corporation in Bristol and retired in 1989. He is survied by wife Mae of 50 years, formerly of Van Buren, ME; two sons, Rick and Shawn of Salt Lake City, UT; four daughters, Dinallene Fehrs of Wolcott, Karon Fongemie of Bristol, Sharon Langdeau of Southington, Lynne Florin of Plantsville; 14 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; one sister, Lillian Anderson of Bristol; also brothers, Edgar of Plantsville, Rosevelt, Simeon, Delmar and Jerome of Bristol, and Wilson of Southington. He was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church. The memorial mass will be held at St. Maria Coretti Church, Friday at 10 a.m. in Wolcott. No calling hours. At the request of our loved one no flowers.
