Sears, 38, employed at the Augusta plant of the Hazzard Co., dropped while at work at 10 o'clock Saturday morning and died shortly after as a result of a lung hemorrhage. Survivors are his wife Jennie M., two small sons, Raymond W. and Robert E., six brothers, J.H. of Gardiner, W.G. of New York, W.J. of Rockland, Harry A. of Augusta, S.C. of Indiana, J.L. of Albany; three sisters, Mrs. H.L. Goldsmith and Mrs. C.E. Tibbetts of West Gardiner and Louise Roberts of Norway. The funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home. Published in the Kennebec Journal, Monday, August 4, 1930. Services - - - Funeral services for Allen J. Sears were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home and a large number of friends and relatives were present. The floral offererings were many and beautiful. Rev. William R. Wood, pastor of the Penney Memorial United Baptist Church officiated and interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery. The bearers were Joseph, Thomas, Chenille and Frank Violette.
