At the Grand Falls Manor, June 24, 2010, Mr. Clairmont Laforest of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 81 years. He was the husband of Laura (Violette) Laforest. Born at Drummond in 1928, he was a son of the late Georges and Leocadie (Albert) Laforest.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son Paul of Grand Falls, three grandsons, Samuel, Daniel and Kevin, one sister, Agathe Morrissey (Cecil) of Grand Falls, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Laforest and a sister, Monique Godreau.

Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Sunday from 7-9 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. His funeral service will be held Monday, June 28th at 11 a.m. from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls with interment in the Saint-Leonard Cemetery. For those who wish, donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.

CANAAN - Anita Violette, 83, of Canaan, died peacefully at Cedar Ridge nursing home on June 23, 2017. She was born Aug. 31, 1933, to Walter and Louise Smith (Noonan) of Skowhegan.
Anita was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Paul L. Violette, of Hartland; and her partner of 20-plus years, Adelbert Richardson, of Harpswell.
Anita is survived by her son Linwood Violette and wife Ruth, of Hartland, grandson Ryan Violette and partner Holly, of Skowhegan, and great-granddaughter Piper, of Skowhegan; daughter Lillian Kelley and husband George of Canaan, granddaughter Desiree Kelley and David Haney of Canaan; stepson Gregory Tisdale and Jenny Tisdale, of Harspwell, and grandchildren Derrick and Denise Tisdale (special thanks to Greg and his family for accepting Anita into their family, loving and caring for her all these years when they did not have to); sister Catherine Marshall, of Waterville; and sister Mildred Kaherl, of Hartland.
Anita was predeceased by brothers, Harold Smith, of Skowhegan; Harry Smith, of Norridgewock; and Martin (Pepper) Smith, of Skowhegan; sister Mabel Arsenault, of Skowhegan; and many nieces and nephews who loved their "Auntie" or "Aunt Anita."
Many thanks to the administration and staff of Cedar Ridge Nursing Home in Skowhegan for all the wonderful care they gave Anita while she was there.
Also, thank you to the EMS and staff of RFGH in Skowhegan for all of the great care and compassion they showed Anita when she was in their care.
At Anita's request there will be no services, a celebration of life will be announced at a later time. Funeral arrangements are by Direct Cremation, Belfast.

CARIBOU and VAN BUREN – Louise C. Violette, 58, died unexpectedly May 11, 2007, at her Caribou residence. She was born Sept. 7, 1948, in Van Buren, the daughter of Louis and Velma (Tilley) Dumais. Louise was a 1968 graduate of Van Buren District High School and attended Newbury School of Business, Boston. She worked as a medical receptionist and transcriber for various practices in the Caribou area for many years. She was selected as Maine Potato Blossom Queen in 1969 and was awarded Miss Maine Congeniality in 1969. She is survived by her husband, Larry Violette of Caribou; two sons, Eric Violette and his wife, Deidra, and Kurt Violette and his wife, Jennifer, all of Caribou; one brother, Philip “Skip” Dumais of Van Buren; one sister, Maureen Chick of Lisbon; four grandchildren, Danielle, Amanda, Jace and Ashley. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Gregory Dumais. Relatives and friends may call 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Those who wish may contribute in her memory to the American Diabetes Association, 163 Lancaster St., Suite 98 R, Portland, ME 04101.

Georges LaPointe 1932-2012

At the Grand Falls General Hospital, October 25, 2012, Mr. Georges X. LaPointe of Saint-Leonard passed away at the age of 79 years. Born in 1933, he was a son of the late Xavier and Rose-Anna (Cyr) LaPointe.

He is survived by his sister, Bernadette Leclerc of Grand Falls, his twin sister, Georgette Castonguay of Bristol, CT, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters and brothers, Geraldine, Lorraine, Venolia, Gemma, Albeo and Fernand.

Resting at O'Regan's Chapel, 83 Saint-Antoine Street, Saint-Leonard with visiting hours Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. Please note that there will be no visiting hours Sunday evening. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Saint-Leonard Roman Catholic Church on Monday, October 29th at 4 p.m. followed by interment in the parish cemetery. For those who wish, donations to the Extra-Mural Hospital Program would be appreciated by the family.

Geraldine Violette, 78, died Feb. 2, 2007 at a nursing home.

She was born in Van Buren, on March 2, 1928, the daughter of Joseph and Yvonne (Ouellette) Corriveau. She is survived by one daughter, Leah Ouellette and her husband Donald of Vernon, Vt.; one son, Michael Violette and his wife Sharon of Winslow; one brother, Robert Corriveau of North Falmouth, Mass.; three sisters, Muriel Doucette of Van Buren, Claudette Hallisey of Fort Myers, Fla., and Joan Olsen of East Hartford, Conn.; four grandchildren, Jacob and Lauren Violette, Naomi Lagasse and Melissa Ouellette; four great-grandchildren, Samantha and Sarah Lagasse, Logan and Ryan Boyd.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated in Van Buren, at a time to be announced next summer.
