Her 1899 Marriage record has her age as 21 which indicates her birth year as 1878 which is incorrect.

The 1880 census places her birth year as 1870 which places her birth between Vitaline b. 5 Nob 1869 and Joseph Aime b. 28 May 1871. This indicates a birth of July-Aug 1870.

According to 1900 Webster, Mass. census, she was born Nov 1868, but this is a census done in the US by English speaking people, on French speaking people, so they are always suspect due to the language issues. In addition her parents were married 18 October 1868 and it is very unlikely a Catholic would have had a child a month after their marriage. I believe the birth date based on the 1880 census is correct.

Violette, Marie Odia (P3034)

5213 DOB: Lippe pg 133 & 325
DOD: She is not present in the 1880 census and she would have been 11 in 1880. This indicates she died before 1880.

Adopted by Henry and Valerie Fanton at age 2.
1910 Census he is listed with the Fanton's but with the last name Violet and under relationship it says "Ward" which indicates he wasn't adopted.
Gary Levesque: I have found his birth record in Massachusetts listing Maxime & Elise Cyr as parents from Van Buren. I believe the adoption happened after 1893 because that is when Henry and Valerie were married.
Violette, Joseph (John) Edgar (P3043)

5217 DOB: Lippe pg 136
In the 1900 census, there is an Anne d/o Basile Violette, born June 1882. Her sister, who was named Anne, died one month after her birth, so it appears Emma was being called Anne. This is complicated by a marriage record for an Anne d/o Basile Violette who married a Joseph Dube on 5 Sept 1904.

5222 DOB: Lippe pg 136 & Church record
DOD: Church record has his name as Basil, and died at age 1 day, the only child born in Van Buren on 6 May 1881 was Jean Baptiste son of Basile Violette and Josephine Cote. It appears the priest made an error and wrote Basil, vice Jean Baptiste. Present were his father Basile Violette and an Alvine Beaulieu.
Violette, Jean-Baptiste (P3183)

5223 DOB: Lippe pg 136 & Church Records
DOD: Church Records
The church recording of her death is dated 1 April 1880 and states that she was 1 month old (actually she had only lived 17 days) and it lists who were present, which was an Alex Violette and a ? Cyr. Neither her father Basile Violette nor mother Josephine Cote were present. No reason is given by the priest as for why her parents were not present. Anne Violette b. 13 Mar 1880 Van Buren, Maine d/o Basile Violette and Josephine Cote was the only Anne Violette born during March of 1880 in Van Buren, Maine, so this can only be her record of death.

Page 138 records the children of Jean-Baptiste Violette b. 27-7-1852 Van Buren, Maine and Marie Thibodeau. Three errors have been found with this record.
Third – there is no marriage indicated for the family’s only remaining son, Michel b. 6-9-1880. A review of the marriage record for Joseph Violette who married Alphonsine Morin on 23 Oct 1906 in Caribou, Maine indicates that he was 25 years old, which points to it being Michel. In addition, after the death of his younger brother Solomon Joseph in 1885, he was the only remaining son in the family. So this leaves us with only one possible explanation- Michel was going by the name Joseph in 1906 and is the son who married Alphonsine.
