5999 | DOB: Lippe pg 68 & Maine Births and Christenings 1739-1900 DOD: Church record, see Poitras St. Basile death records pg 635 DOM: Lippe pg 68 GIVEN NAMES: Also shown as Baptiste Lippe Page 138 records the children of Jean-Baptiste Violette b. 27-7-1852 Van Buren, Maine and Marie Thibodeau. Three errors have been found with this record. First – it is indicated that this family had a child Salome b. 18-7-1885, but no record of this birth could be found, however a church record was found for a Salomon, born to this family, who died on that date and who had only lived 18 months. So this is the death of Solomon Joseph b. 26-11-1883. https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/1110/images/d13p_31381158?treeid=&personid=&rc=&usePUB=true&_phsrc=yEe29440&_phstart=successSource&pId=651425 Second – it is indicated that Solomon Joseph had married Alphonsine Morin in 1906, but this clearly wasn’t possible because he had died in 1885. Third – there is no marriage indicated for the family’s only remaining son, Michel b. 6-9-1880. A review of the marriage record for Joseph Violette who married Alphonsine on 23 Oct 1906 in Caribou, Maine indicates that he was 25 years old, which points to it being Michel. In addition, after the death of his younger brother, he was the only remaining son in the family. So this leaves us with only one possible explanation- Michel was going by the name Joseph in 1906 and is the son who married Alphonsine. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:939K-R59Y-R6?i=2805&cc=1803978 Errata: 216e) delete the entry for Salome | Violette, Jean-Baptiste (P2408)
