HERMAN NEVERS WASHBURN Herman Nevers 69 died at a Presque Isle health-care facility April 23 1993. He was born in Presque Isle May 27 1923 the son of John and Emma (Mason) Nevers. He was a scout advisor for the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in Washburn for 30 years. Mr Nevers served with the US Army during World War II. Surviving are his wife Constance (Violette) Nevers a daughter Carol Doughty twin granddaughters Erin Ann and Erika Lee Doughty all of Washburn. He will be remembered by special friends Corinne and Alphonse Levesque and family of Caribou. Friends may call at the Graves Funeral Home 30 Church St Presque Isle 7-9 pm Saturday. Services will be held at the funeral home 2 pm Sunday with the Rev Alphee Marquis officiating. Interment will be in Crouseville cemetery later this spring.

Born on March 30, 1909, in Nashua, N.H., he was the son of Regis and Elsire (Paradis) Parent. He had been married to Lillian Carron. He attended public schools in Nashua, N.H. During his earlier years he had been a sawyer and a truck operator for the Malone Trucking Company in Waltham, Mass. During the early and mid 1940s, he and his father owned and operated a dairy farm in East Hardwick. Later, he was employed by the Fairbanks Morse Scale Company in St. Johnsbury for more than 20 years as a heavy equipment operator. He retired in the early 1960s. He was then employed on an "at need" basis as a heavy equipment operator for Gates Salvage in Hardwick.

Edmund F. Violette, 90, of Village Street, Northford died Sunday (June 21, 1998)at the Ct. Hospice, Branford after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Alice Cyr Violette. Mr. Violette was born in Rumford, ME on April 11, 1908 and was the son of the late Stanislas and Sophie Cormier Violette. A resident of Northford for the past 15 years, he had worked for the Hartford Post Office for many years until his retirement in 1973 and after had been doing volunteer work for ACES of North Haven. A Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, he was a past Faithful Navigator of the Rev. M.B. Roddam Assembly of Bristol. He was a parishioner of St. Frances Cabrini Church of North Haven. He leaves daughters, Roberta A. Violette and Veronica MacKenzie both of Northford. A sister, Yoette Crater of Las Vegas, NV. Predeceased by a son, Robert J. Violette and brothers, Emile, Edward, William, Leo and Alfred Violette. Funeral Services from the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington North Haven, Wednesday (June 24), 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Frances Cabrini Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Bristol.
