963 | Brian Paul LeRiche, 53, passed away unexpectedly from COPD complications on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at his home in Canton. He was born in Lewiston, Maine on June 28, 1963, the son of Alfred Noel LeRiche, Jr. and Blanche (Violette) LeRiche, the twelfth of their 13 children. He attended local parochial schools and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1981. There are special memories of Brian, a quiet sweet boy, camping at Hermit Island, swimming at Little Wilson Pond and playing family card and board games before mental illness entered his life. Be at peace, Brian. He was predeceased by his father in 2004 and his mother in 2009. 999 | Carmen D. Cyr, 91, died Aug. 8, 2011, in Bangor, after a brief illness. She was born Dec. 4, 1919, in Van Buren, the daughter of Alfred and Emma (Paradis) Dionne. She was married to Angelo N. Cyr for 30 years until his death in 1970. Carmen was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy, Portland, and Merrill Business School, South Norwalk, Conn. She and her husband were owners of Cyr's Department Store, Van Buren. For more than 40 years she was court clerk for Van Buren Municipal Court until retiring in 1990. Carmen was active in politics at the local, state and national levels for many years. She served as the Maine State Republican chairwoman and was an alternate delegate at the 1960 Republican National Convention in Chicago. She was a member of the Maine State Association of Court Clerks, a charter member of the Van Buren chapter of Business and Professional Women and a past member of Van Buren Daughters of Isabella and Women's Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars. After retirement Carmen moved to Bangor to be closer to her family. She was a member of St. Mary's Parish. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to travel and she had a great passion for reading. She is survived by three daughters, Betty Schug and her husband, Ray, of Renton, Wash., Chris Lee and her husband, Dan, of Bangor and Cheryl Cyr and her husband, Richard Meade, of Kissimmee, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Paulette Frye of Belfast; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and special family member, Wakine Tanous of East Millinocket. In addition to her husband, Carmen was predeceased by her son, Fred, in 1988. Family and friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bangor.
