OLD ORCHARD BEACH - Alfreda Y. Violette, 73, of St. John Street, died Thursday at Maine Medical Center in Portland. She was born in Wallagrass, a daughter of Alphonse and Celina Martin Deprey, and graduated from Biddeford High School. Her main focus in life was her family, according to family members. She enjoyed crossword puzzles. She was predeceased by two sons, infant Allen in 1947 and Marc in 1994. Survivors include four sons, Joel M. of Caribou, James A. of Old Orchard Beach, Rodney J. of Worcester, Mass., and Danny E. of Springvale; two daughters, Collene Valliere and Debra Letarte, both of Waterboro; and two brothers, Jack Deprey of Old Orchard Beach and Edgar Deprey of Florida.

Esther VioletteAt Foyer Saint-Joseph Nursing Home of Saint-Basile, November 9, 2008, Mrs. Esther Violette of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes passed away at the age of 96 years. She was the wife of the late Maxime Violette. Born at Siegas in 1911, she was the last surviving child of the late Steven and Annie Gauvin.

Mrs. Violette was a member of the "Mouvement des femmes chrétiennes" of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes.

She is survived by one son, Adrien (Gisele) of Riviere-Verte, three daughters, Rejeanne Caldwell (Dave) of Mars Hill, Maine, Simone Poitras of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes and Denise Violette (partner Gervais Dupuis) of Saint-François, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, nieces and nephews.

Her funeral was held Wednesday, November 12th at 4 p.m. from the Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, with Father Roland Poitras officiating. The pallbearers were Philippe Poitras, Patrice Poitras, Bertin Violette, Charles Violette, Kevin Violette and Gervais Dupuis. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery.

Arrangements were by O'Regan's Funeral Home Ltd.

At the Grand Falls General Hospital, December 18, 2011, Mrs. Eveline Violette of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 85 years. She was the wife of the late Romain Violette who died in 1971. Born at Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes in 1926, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Marie-Mai (Ouellette) Michaud.

She is survived by eight children, Laurent (Nicole) of Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska, Robert (Diane) of North Carolina, Huguette Jackson (John) of Milford, Maine, Marcel (Dorianne) of Wolcott, Connecticut, Madeleine Morin (Pierre) of Grand Falls, Valmont (Lili) of Bristol, Connecticut, Leonard (Linda) of Saint-Andre and Linda Damboise (Gerard) of Drummond, 23 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, one brother, Conrad Michaud of Grand Falls, three sisters, Yvette Desjardins of Edmundston, Irene Lavoie and Marielle Deschenes (Claude) of Grand Falls, as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by step-son, Adolphe "Ti-Bi" Poirier, brothers, Alveo, Gabriel "Bi" and Yvon, sisters, Gisele Michaud, Gemma Lagace, Simone Michaud and Estelle Gauvin.

Her funeral service was held Wednesday, December 21st at 4 p.m. from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls with Father Lucien Levesque officiating. The pallbearers were Evan Deschenes, Maurice Violette, Brian Morin, Phillip Violette, David Roussel and Kevin Violette. Interment was in the Assumption Cemetery.

Arrangements were by O'Regan's Funeral Home Ltd.
