9908 | Irène Desjardins Violette 1923-2015 Irène Desjardins Violette At the Falls Villa (Grand Falls Manor), March 1, 2015, Mrs. Irene Desjardins Violette of Saint-Leonard passed away at the age of 91 years. She was the widow of Romeo "Romand" Desjardins by first marriage and of Luc Violette by second marriage. Born at Saint-Leonard in 1923, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Isabelle (Michaud) Deveau. She is survived by her husband, Luc Violette of Hermon, Maine, four children, Isabelle Gagnon (Bertrand) of Etna, Maine, Robert Desjardins (Ghislaine) of Edmundston, Diane Desjardins and Alvine Ethier (Raymond) of Grand Falls, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two sisters, Lauraine Deveau-Ouellet (late Rosaire) of Keegan, Maine and Lillian DeVeau-Cannell (late Billy) of Puyallup, Washington, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, a son, Roland Desjardins and a brother, Albert Deveau (late Rita Durette). Resting at O'Regan's Chapel, 83 St-Antoine Street, Saint-Leonard with visiting hours Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Her funeral service will be held Friday, March 6th at 11 a.m. from the Saint-Leonard Roman Catholic Church with interment in the parish cemetery. 9913 | Jacques Violette 1949-2013 Jacques Violette At his residence, May 27, 2013, Mr. Jacques Violette of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 63 years. He was married to the former Raymonde Cyr. Born at Van Buren, Maine in 1949, he was a son of Viola (Lagace) and of the late Georges Violette. Jacques was retired after a 33-year career with the Canada Border Services Agency. He is survived by his wife, his two daughters, Monica (Marcel Pelletier) of Drummond and Louise (Eric Beaulieu) of Saint-Leonard-Parent, four grandchildren, Marc-André, Amélie, Marjorie and Samuel, his mother, Mrs. Viola Violette, resident of Foyer Notre-Dame Nursing Home of Saint-Leonard, one brother, Jean-Guy (Celine) of New Denmark, three sisters, Nicole (Renaud "Johnny" Laforge) of Saint-Leonard-Parent, Micheline (Rodolphe Levesque) of Grand Falls and Denise (Denis Michaud) of Drummond, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. His funeral service was held Friday, May 31st at 11 a.m. from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls with Father Lucien Levesque officiating, assisted by Father Patrice Picard. The pallbearers were Marc-André Pelletier, François Laforge, Carole Cyr, Anne Violette, Marc Levesque and Gaël Cyr. Interment was in the parish cemetery. He had 12 children with Marcelline Couture before her death on 5 Jun 1898. Jean Baptiste married his 3rd wife, Ursule Letourneau on 25 Jun 1901. She died 31 Jan. 1914. They had no children. On 13 Jul 1915 Jean Baptiste married his 4th wife, Marie dit Cote Frechette when he was 80 years of age. She outlived him. 9918 | Jessie (Kean) Violette, 92, went into the loving arms of the Lord on Wednesday (January 16, 2008). She was the loving wife of the late Louis C. Violette and daughter of the late Agnes and William Kean. She was also predeceased by her son, Louis C. Violette, Jr.; brother, William Kean his wife Norma, and son-in-law, Arthur L. Russell. Jessie was a life long resident of Hartford, moving to Ellington 20 years ago to live with her daughter, Laura and her family who took wonderful care of her especially through her illness. Jessie worked for the South West and Hartford Senior Centers for many years. After moving to Ellington, she became active in their center and worked for Social Services. Jessie loved people and enjoyed arranging trips and activities for the centers she worked for. She was a very active member of St. Lawrence O'Toole Church for many years. Being the loving mother, she looked forward to family gatherings and visits from family and friends. She especially loved her birthday parties. Jessie is survived by her children, Barbara Russell of Port St. Lucie, FL, Patricia Weiman of Newington, Charles Violette and wife Barbara of Orlando, FL, Fredrick Violette and wife Marylou of Euless, TX, Laura Krampitz of Ellington and Mark Violette and wife Cynthia of Newington. She also leaves 16 grandchildren, Karri Prandy, Frederick Krampitz, Robert Russell, Thomas Russell, William Russell, Deborah Kocher, Denise Karagianis, Vallie Weiman, Jessica Enxuto, Mary Beth Monaco, Keith Violette, Cynthia Clayton, Jennifer Hunt, Chad Violette, Chase Violette and Melissa Oberly. She was lovingly referred to as "GiGi" by her 14 great grandchildren and one great- great granddaughter. Jessie also leaves four special nieces, Janet Kean, Virginia Houseman, Delores Robinson and Patricia Murphy. Also, her many special friends from Social Services of Ellington. The family would like to thank all who gave love and support throughout her illness, especially her grandson Frederick Krampitz. She was especially grateful to Michael Laspada and the staff of Visiting Nurses, Companions and Homemakers and the Fox Hill Rehab Center. Family and friends may call at the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill on Sunday, January 20, from 3-7 p.m. There will be a funeral service on Monday, January 21, 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
