Francois and Marie-Luce were most likely married before witnesses during a civil ceremony at Kennebecasis in the fall of 1769; as was the custom. Later, on May 6, 1770, Fr. Bailey blessed the marriage at the Ecoupahag mission. The mission records were kept at Caraquet, but that is not where the ceremony was performed. [1]

Marriage |
Abt 1794 |
Notes |
- DOM: Genealogies of the Catholic Families of Maine, New Brunswick, and the Province of Quebec has 1800 which isn't practical because their first born was 26-5-1795 which points toward 1794 as the most probable year of marriage, Langlois, Mercure Tome III pg 58, Lippe pg 21 has 2-7-1792 St Basile but a review of those church records shows that it was a Louis Ouellet who married a Marie Genevieve Cyr on that date.
