- Gloria Violette peacefully entered into Eternal Life on her 90th birthday, November 13, 2024, following a brief illness. She was born November 13, 1934, in Van Buren, a daughter of the late Albert and Cecile (Thibodeau) Berube.
Gloria was a graduate of former Sacred Heart High School, Van Buren, Class of 1953. Shortly after graduating, she married the love of her life, Robert A. Violette, and was delighted to begin creating her family. She was a dedicated parishioner of St. Bruno-St. Remi Church, and her entire life was full of faith which she instilled into her large family and was a longtime volunteer for the parish Mercy Meals. She proudly lived her Cursillo. Gloria loved animals and raised and rode horses. Some of her fondest memories were the many years her and her husband traveled across the USA and Canada in their RV. An avid knitter and seamstress, most of her crafts were proudly donated to charity or to her many grandchildren. She was so proud of all the accomplishments of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by four daughters, Bobbie Adair and her husband Don Boucher of Otisfield, Ann Theriault of Wisconsin, Susan Violette of North Carolina, and Denise Violette and her husband Paul Rossignol of Topsham; three sons, Peter Violette and his wife Alice of Windham, John Violette and his wife Yolanda of Mercer, and Brian Violette and his wife Gretchen of Van Buren; two siblings, Ann Desjardins and her husband Blanc of Van Buren, and Dan Berube and his wife Barbara of Gorham; 20 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Gloria was predeceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, Robert Violette, in 2018, two brothers, Edwin and Arnold Berube, and two sons-in-law, Scott Adair and Dan Theriault.
