Agapit was a son of Bénoni and Élisabeth (LeClerc) Nadeau. His christening was recorded in the parish registers at L'Église de St-Basile, though some sources state that he had been born across the river in Van Buren, Maine.
He married Ozithée Pelletier, a daughter of Bénoni and Victoire (Violette) Pelletier, on July 19, 1847, at L'Église de Ste-Luce in Frenchville, Maine.
His death was recorded in the parish registers at L'Église de Saint-François-d'Assise in Clair, New Brunswick, indicating that he died on the 28th and was interred on the 31st.
