Firmin moved to the Madawaska Settlement in March 1789.
Firmin was one of the 24 grantees whose land titles were conveyed by the second British Concession in 1794.
His land was on the north bank of the St. John River, a few farms south of Green River.
He became a captain in the 104th Regiment of the New Brunswick militia during the War of 1812.
