erard R. "Ray" Bolduc, 86, of South Windsor, formerly of Surfside Beach, S.C., loving husband to Dolores C. (Breton) Bolduc, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 8, 2018 in Hartford with his family by his side. Gerard was born on July 19, 1931, in Winslow, Maine to the late Joseph and Martha (Violette) Bolduc. He was raised in Winslow and attended local schools. Gerard entered the service at the age of 17, proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge from the service, he moved to Connecticut and worked as a truck driver. Ray was an avid gardener and loved wood working. He was also active in his church. He loved his sports teams: Yankees, NY Giants and UCONN Huskies. In his later years he enjoyed his daily walks and loved helping his neighbors. He was also a natural conversationalist struck up many conversations with people he met along his life journey. Ray will be extraordinarily missed, however his spirit will remain in our hearts forever. Cheers Ray! In addition to his wife Dolores, Gerard is survived by his son Glen Bolduc and his wife Kate of Glastonbury; his daughter Laurie Edgerton and her husband David of Manchester; his grandchildren Todd Edgerton and his wife Sarah, Jordan Edgerton and his wife Mandy and Tara Monge and her husband Rick; his two wonderful great-grandchildren Matthew Edgerton and Teagan Monge; his sisters Lillian Lovett and Pat Knight as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gerard was predeceased by his daughter Amy Bolduc; his brothers Armand, Hector, Lucien, Richard and Norris; and his sisters Doris Reed and Gloria Bolduc. Funeral services for Gerard will be private. Inurnment will take place in St. James Cemetery, Manchester. Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, Manchester is in care of his arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gerard's name may be made to the CT Special Olympics, 2666 State St., Suite 1, Hamden, CT 06517.
