He was born July 24, 1924 in Drummond, New Brunswick, Canada the son of Le’Vite and Flavie Albert Violette. Lionel was an airplane mechanic in the US Army Air Corps and a veteran of WWII. He went on to become an auditor for the Internal Revenue Service. He was a member of St Mary’s of the Knobs Catholic Church in Floyds Knobs, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, and loving wife of 61 years, Cecile Michaud Violette. He is survived by three sons, Robert Violette of Floyds Knobs, IN, James Violette of Lavallette, NJ and David Violette of Belle Mead, NJ; one daughter Jean Bell of Mountain View, CA; one brother Alex Violette of Augusta, ME; one sister Audie Lambet of Sebring, FL; five grandchildren, Jason, Kristofer, Danielle, Jacqueline, and Michael and four great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will take place Saturday October 19, 2019 at 2 PM at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown, IN. There will be an hour for visitation from 1 PM until the service at 2 PM.
