      Lt. Col. (Retd) Lionel Violette, USAF, age 93 passed away peacefully on October 22, 2014 while under the care of his adoring children, the wonderful people at Hospice of the Palm Beaches and the loving staff at Mangrove Bay Assisted Living in Jupiter, Florida. He is survived by his son the Reverend Tex Robert Violette of Bordentown, NJ; his daughter, Michelle Marguerite Lawler (Kyle) of Union, KY , his son Terry Raymond Violette of Lake Cloud, FL.; his grandchildren James Frederick Glass (Dana), Jody Noelle Arnett (Glen) and great-grandchildren Joel Frederick Glass, Nathan James Glass and Avery Michelle Arnett. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Barbara Augusta Violette (nee Smiley) of Syracuse, NY; his brothers and sisters Adrian, Norman, Lucy and Lauria of Lake Worth, Fl. Lt. Col. Violette was an Air Force pilot and flight instructor who served his country for 25 years at stations around the United States, Japan, Greenland and Germany. He retired to Florida with his family in 1965, where they spent many long and happy years.

      The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the USO which our grandmother helped to organize in Syracuse, NY and where our parents first met.
