On 19 Feb 1945 there was an ariticle title Victory Bound, in the Bangor Daily News written by a John O'Connell, Jr. In the article there was mention about three Catholic Sisters from Van Buren, Maine who had gone to France for their novitiate, which is usually two years, but then WWII happened. In order to protect the three sisters they were sent far from Paris. One was Sister M. Fidele who was according to the article Germaine Violette, who was actually Blanche Geraldine (the artcile incorrectly had Germaine instead of Geraldine) and she was described as being "one of the best teachers they have had in the girls' school." The article went on to mention her brother PFC. Paul Emile Violette who had been wounded and was in an American hospital in France.

Sister M. Fidele safely returned to the United States on 16 March 1947 aboard the S.S. Aquitania.
