Mechanical Engineer 35 years with Pitney Bowes
Donald J. Violette, a lifelong resident of Stamford died Saturday August 27, 2011 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was 79 years young. Born on July 20, 1932 in Stamford, CT. He is predeceased by his wife Margot and a grandson, Christopher. He is survived by his three daughters, Gay (Kevin) O’Brien of Yorktown Heights, NY., Wendy (Michael) LaRuffa of Charlotte, NC., Vicki (James) Crothers of Norwalk, CT. and one son, Donald J. Violette Jr., of Dunedin , FL. Donald has 5 grandchildren, Jason, Taury, James, Amanda and Donald III and one great grand-daughter, Riley. He also has 4 surviving sisters, Diane Spencer of Schenectady, NY., Dolores Goldberg of Yorktown Hts., NY, and twins Joan Silva of Yarmouth Port, MA., and Joy McCabe of Woburn , MA ., along with many nieces and nephews. He proudly served in the US Navy at the time of the Korean War. He retired from Pitney Bowes with over 35 years of dedicated service as a mechanical engineer. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge and the Knights of Columbus. There will be no calling hours however all are welcome to join the family on the day of the interment Friday, September 9, 2011 at Fairfield Memorial Park in Stamford at 11:00 to celebrate his life.
