- Regina P. Violette, 89, died peacefully Nov. 25, 2007, at an Ellsworth nursing facility. She was born Oct. 9, 1918, in Van Buren, the daughter of Beloni and Celina (Brudeau) Vaillancourt. She was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. She loved bowling and was a member of the former Kan-zingers Bowling Lanes and later Bucksport Bowling Lanes. She spent every summer at the family camp on Toddy Pond, East Orland, from 1943 to 1972. When her husband, Guy, sold their business of 38 years, they moved year-round to Toddy pond. She and Guy enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing with family and friends. Regina loved her trips to Florida, and never missed a family wedding or celebration, always ready to party or to chip in to help out in whatever the occasion called for. In later years, she enjoyed crocheting and gave most of her work away to family, friends and charities. Regina loved all the people at Bucksport Senior Citizen Center; Bucksport Square Apartments; Woodlands, Brewer and Courtland Rehab and Living Center, Ellsworth. She is survived by seven children, Jean and her husband, Philip Melcher, of Lakeworth, Fla., Arlene and her husband, Richard Bennett, of Fort Pierce, Fla., Levi Violette and his wife, Donna, of East Orland, Guy Violette and his partner, Garret Lovett, of West Palm Beach, Fla., Joyce and her husband, David Clement, of Iron Mountain, Mich., Linda and her husband, John Beatty, of Senioa, Ga., and Larry Violette and his friend, Angela Somers, of Sullivan; 15 grandchildren, eight great-grand-children, seven great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; one brother, Mitchell Vaillancourt and his wife, Vi, of Brunswick; and one sister, Kay Cyr of Southington, Conn. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Guy A. Violette, May 11, 1988; one sister and five brothers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, Bucksport, with Father James Plourde, celebrant. Visiting hours will be held 8:30-9:30 a.m. Thursday at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, Bucksport. Interment will be at St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery, Bucksport.
