- At the Edmundston Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at the age
of 83, died Irene Michaud, wife of the late Lorenzo Violette, resident in
Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska and formerly of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes.
Born in Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes in 1937, she was the daughter of the late
Léonide Michaud and the late Antoinette Bélanger.
Ms. Violette was an employee of McCain Foods Limited for 20 years. She was also a life member of the Christian Women's Movement of Our Lady of Lourdes and a member of the St. Joseph Society. She was also the first secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, which began in the 1960s.
She is survived by four children, Diane Cormier (Maurice), Laurence Violette (Marius Ruest), Camille Violette (Pierrette Martin) and Johanne Ruest (Léo), her son-in-law, Clarence Thibodeau (late Viviane), her daughter-in-law, Jacqueline (late Irenée), 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren in addition to one on the way, two brothers and a sister, Roger Michaud (Thérèse) of Terrebonne, Quebec, Jean-Claude Michaud (Céline) of Montreal and Doreen Couturier (Ghislain) of Laval, Quebec, half-sisters, Sister Monique Michaud of Ottawa and Sister Brigitte Michaud of Montreal, as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two children, Viviane Thibodeau and Irenée Violette, her sisters and brothers, Alyre Michaud, Bibiane Michaud, Rolande Michaud (late Léonide), Camille Michaud (Candide), Réal Michaud (Adrienne), Roland Michaud (late Vera) and Diana (late Philippe Maltais).
The funeral of Mrs. Irene Violette will take place in the Church of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes in the presence of her family and close friends. His nephew, Father Roland Poitras, will preside over the ceremony. Burial will take place at the parish cemetery.
