      Jacqueline I. Lachance, age 71, died unexpectedly Friday, November 6, 2015 at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. She was born in Augusta, ME on December 30, 1943 a daughter of the late Leo Violette, Sr. and Roselia (Pare) Violette.
      Mrs. Lachance attended Augusta schools and was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
      She had been employed at the Augusta Mental Health Institute for over 20 years. She previously worked at Hallowell Shoe Co.
      Mrs. Lachance was pre-deceased by a sister, Gerine Bridges and a great grandchild, Thomas Merriam.
      She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Donald J. Lachance of Chelsea; three sons: Ricky D. Lachance, Sr. and his wife Cheryl of Chelsea, Michael D. Lachance and his wife Manon of Sidney and Ronald J. Lachance and his wife Michaelle of Old Town; two brothers: Leo Violette, Jr. of Readfield and Conrad Violette of Augusta; three sisters: Rita Violette of South China, Lorraine Dudley of Pittston and Rachel Deplanche of Randolph; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
      At her request, there will be no public visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, November 10th at 11 AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Augusta. Burial and committal prayers will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, Townsend Rd., Augusta.
