Frank J. Violette was born in Old Town, Maine on June 2, 1894. In 1910 he accompanied his parents to Panama. On August 19, 1912 he was employed as a carpenter for the Panama Canal Company. He was released from the Company because of a reduction in force on November 15, 1914 and awarded the Roosevelt Medal. He returned to Maine and married Lima Mary Violette in October 1917. They moved to Providence, Rhode Island where their two children, Bill and Francis were born. In late 1919 Frank, Lima and their two children moved to the Canal Zone where Frank was employed by the Fortifications Division of the Panama Canal Company at Mensa Bay. In about 1923, Frank took a leave of absence to work for Grebien and Martinz, a private construction firm in the Republic of Panama. In August 24, 1956, his wife died and was buried in the Corozal American Cemetery. Frank moved to Florida. He died on December 8, 1976 in St. Petersburg, Florida and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery next to his wife, Lima.
