      John W. "Whitey" Lubelczyk, 68, of Glendale Dr., Bristol, husband of Joan (Doucette) Lubelczyk, died Wednesday, (January 5, 2000) at Hartford Hospital.

      Mr. Lubelczyk was born in Bristol, May 30, 1931. A Bristol resident all his life, he was employed at the Superior Electric Co. for 41 years before retiring in 1996.

      He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of St. Stanislaus Church, Bristol Polish American Citizens Club, Polish Legion of American Veterans, CPT. Edmund P. Zbikowski Post #2, American Legion Seicheprey Post #2, and the James McNamee Chapter #5, Disabled American Veterans.

      In addition to his wife, Mr. Lubelczyk is survived by a son, Mark V. Lubelczyk of Bristol; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lori Ferrante of Plainville; and Lynn and David Bohn of Plantsville; three grandchildren, Ethan and Gregory Bohn, and Mark R. Lubelczyk; an uncle, Walter Lubelczyk of Bristol; and several nieces and nephews.

      A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, January 8, 2000, at St. Stanislaus Church.

      Burial with military honors followed in St. Joseph Cemetery.

      Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, handled the arrangements.
