Richard “Dick” J. Hanson, 81 of Lebanon Road, passed away at home surrounded by family after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Dick was born in Keene, NH September 25, 1941, the son of Richard and Yvonne (Coty) Hanson. Over the years, he worked for Roberts Shoe and as a machinist for Prime Tanning. He was a loyal member of the North Berwick Historical Society, volunteering when he could in the building of the Barn at the Morrell-Sherburne House.
He was an adventurer, taking up skiing at the age of 52. He so enjoyed his motorcycle and riding with his daughter and granddaughter. Dick was an avid outdoorsman, appreciating his time hunting and fishing. He took great pride in his home and property and loved puttering around on his tractor or in his workshop.
His greatest love was that for his family. Dick followed all the kids football games and wrestling tournaments all over the state. All of the children were so special to him. Family gatherings were his favorite, where he loved to give the greatest Dad and Grampa hugs to all of his family.
Dick will be sorely missed by his wife of 29 years, Becky Hanson of North Berwick; 3 daughters, Linda Lucey of Middleton, NH, Yvonne Regan and husband Scott of Port Charlotte, FL, Tammy Moats of Somersworth, NH; 3 sons, Bruce Lambert and wife Jean of Acton, Brandt Lambert and wife Sheila of Freemont, NH, Beau Lambert and wife Megan of North Berwick; 4 sisters, Barbara Stevens of Rochester, NH, Peggy Goslin and husband Ronald of Farmington, NH, Pat Eaton and husband Craig of Utah, Donna Laurion of Alton, NH; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, and his Favorite sister-in-law, Geraldine Hilton.
