Cumberland Center Dorothy M. “Dot” (Violette) Hill, 97, died peacefully at her home on March 20, 2021, following a short period of declining health. Dot was born in Rehobeth MA on the Fourth of July in 1923 to Thomas and Mattie (Dick) Violette, the youngest of their 13 children. She graduated from Taunton (MA) High School in 1941 and began work at Grinnell Corp. where she also helped raise money for the war effort as a majorette in the company’s Drum and Bugle Corps. In 1946 she married Robert A. Hill, an army sergeant who later became a successful salesman. They moved, from Rhode Island, to Maine in 1963 and raised their family in Falmouth, North Yarmouth, and South Portland. After her husband died in 1981, she worked as a nanny for more than 14 appreciative families and was also an area Avon representative for many years. Dot studied dance in her youth and enjoyed golf, reading and knitting. She was a communicant of Holy Martyrs Church, Falmouth. Her greatest love was being surrounded by her children and their families and she was especially grateful for all her many friends and neighbors that had been a treasured joy to her over the years. Dorothy is survived by seven of her eight children: Judith Hill (spouse John Shattuck) of New Gloucester; Kenneth Hill (partner Maury Tooley) of Pawlet, VT; Wayne Hill of Poughkeepsie, NY; Lorraine “Lori” Robinson (spouse Richard Robinson) of North Yarmouth; Marcia Hill (partner Scott) of Gorham; Glenn Hill (fiancé Susan Kelley) of Raleigh, NC; and Jennifer Viernes (spouse Allan Viernes) of Cornish. She has 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Dot also is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins who were very special to her. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert A. “Bob” Hill, daughter Cynthia Kaiser, son-in-law Ed Keiser, and great-grandson Henry James Hartford. A service will be held at a future date. Arrangements are by Lindquist Funeral Home, Yarmouth. Franklin H. Violette, 80, of Sumner, died his way, Sunday, August 25, 2013 at home with his kids caring for him, supporting him and holding his hand. His body gave out but his mind was still as sharp as a tack.

Frank lived a full life. He was born was born in Norwich, CT on July 31, 1933 and grew up in Voluntown, CT as a "State Kid" and raised with his brothers by their Aunt Christine. As a young teenager he attended a Trade School and was fortunate to have a mentor, teacher take him under his wing and teach him much more than a carpentry trade. He enlisted in the Army and proudly served 4 years.

In October, 1952 he married Jeannette Dionne. Frank's life became complete after their three children were born and he built a home in Auburn. His kids never doubted his love and pride for them. After he and Jan divorced, he continued his career and built a small home for himself on his son's property which he called Siloville because he used lumber from a silo he dismantled from John Martin's homestead in Canton.

Frank's early career brought him work in heavy construction. He had a hand in building many bridges throughout Maine. He had a special interest in the building of the Brooklyn Bridge and read the book several times. Frank adjusted his career to keep him closer to his growing family. He began to build and remodel homes. His work will live on through several generations. He was a true craftsman and especially loved finish work. He spent many hours building keepsakes for loved ones who will always treasure his gifts. His greatest pleasure was company from his many nieces, nephews, grandkids and friends. Everyone loved Frank. He was a character and salt of the earth. His compassion allowed him to be non judgmental and use encouraging words to anyone with troubled hearts.

For many years, Frank enjoyed going to the races at Oxford Plains Speedway. He watched many drivers and their successes since the 1960's. Nothing compared to watching his grandson Travis win 5 Late Model Championships. He realized the effort, dedication and support it took as a team. He was part of the team. His presence will always be felt top row, Section I.

Frank lived a simple life without financial security but considered his life to be rich by being surrounded by his kids and loved ones. He often talked about how gratefully blessed his life was. We are the richer for his life. Frank's legacy is truly love.

Frank was predeceased by brothers Harold, Woodrow, Henry and Francis Violette.

Burial with Military Honors will be conducted at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Church Street, Hartford, Maine.

YORK HARBOR, Maine - Georgiana Donnell, 84, of 18 Simpson Lane, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, at her home after a long illness.

Born in Presque Isle on Aug. 18, 1920, she was the daughter of Edward and Laura (Violet) Tardy. She was a 1939 graduate of Presque Isle High School and a medal-winning speed skater at her school.

She had worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for several years during World War II and later worked at the ticket sales at the former Mt. Agamenticus Ski Area in York. She started Captain Dan’s Restaurant in York Harbor, which she operated for four years. She also operated Donnell’s Marina for many years.

She enjoyed reading and was an avid bowler in several leagues at Bowl-A-Rama in Portsmouth. She had just celebrated her 60th wedding anniversary on Nov. 11.

Survivors include her husband, Daniel P. Donnell of York Harbor; two sons, one daughter, a sister, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Georgianna was the wife of Daniel Donnell, who celebrated his 100th birthday in March, 2018. The following story was published in The Bangor Daily News.

Dan Donnell has been a few places in his life — New York City in eighth grade, a cross country trip not long after high school, sailing down the East Coast once or twice. But he has been more than content to call York Harbor home, this small bit of coastal real estate that has been in his blood and in his family’s blood going back nearly to the dawn of York.

In good health, spry, quick witted with an understated sense of humor, Donnell will turn 100 Friday, March 16. He looks back on a century of life well lived here in York; but the future holds sway as well, as he looks forward to his twice-weekly volunteer days at York Hospital. Last year, he was a recipient of the United Way of York County Spirit of Service Award for his work there.

For nearly 50 years, he has lived on the second floor of a cinder block building at the bottom of Simpson Lane in York Harbor — above a space that once housed Cap’n Dan’s restaurant, started by his late wife Georgiana. Every day, he walks up and down the outside steps to his home, which has panoramic views of all sides of the Harbor.

“I think really, it’s volunteering and my stairs that keep me going,” he said. “I don’t touch booze. I’d play cards, and every once in a while I’d have a glass of sherry but I got off that.” He does take a lot of pills every day, mostly to do with past heart problems and recurring issues with shingles. “But other than that, I’m doing pretty good.”

Donnell was born in 1918, to a town markedly different than it is today. His father, Capt. Daniel A. Donnell, was a tuna fisherman, lobsterman, charter boat captain, and for 60 years the harbor master. His mother, who died a few months shy of her 102nd birthday, was born in Ireland and came over as a teenager.

He grew up on Barrells Mill Pond, just the other side of the Route 103 bridge. It was a childhood tied to the water. Grandfather Frank, who lived next door, had “a good sized boat shop right near the bank. That’s long gone. He used to build lapstrake dories that would be fastened with copper rivets. I remember as a kid it was my job to pick up the remains of the copper and give them to my grandfather. I don’t know what he did with them. Probably he could make some money.”

Growing up, he remembers his entire yard being covered in “stages” — frames stretched with chicken wire used to salt and cure cod and pollock. “That’s how Stage Neck got its name. The Donnells at one time owned most of Stage Neck,” he said.

“When I was a kid, we’d pile up the fish at night with the skin side up and in the morning we’d flip them to the meat side to cure,” he said. He and his father would also go clamming, “and we’d haul the clams in sleds in the wintertime and sell them around the mill pond and different streets.”

York Harbor was markedly more bustling during the summer months than it is today, said Donnell. As a teenager, he worked at a drugstore owned by Morton Frye — just down the road from the Lancaster Building, which had a movie theater. “We’d make frappes and sodas. We’d work 70 hours a week straight pay. But we could eat all the ice cream we wanted,” he said with a laugh.

The Marshall House, where the Stage Neck condominiums are now, and the Emerson House, where St. George’s Church is now, both hired “a ton of college kids. They were everywhere. They’d come in the evenings from the hotels. The sidewalks would be packed.”

A lot more vessels visited the harbor during his younger years, he said. His father had a dock at the end of Varrell Lane where transient boaters would tie up — not a few of them well known personalities of the time. When he was a young boy, Donnell remembers, Charles and Anne Morrow Lindbergh stopped by on their honeymoon. Later, so did actor Robert Young and his wife, “who had a 75-footer. I just wandered over. He was on his honeymoon going up Maine and was fueling up.”

His father became friends with Gen. Billy Mitchell, considered the father of the U.S. Air Force. Mitchell came to York Harbor many summers. “He loved to go out tuna fishing with my dad,” said Donnell.

After returning from service in the Navy during World War II, Donnell took stock. He figured he could capitalize on the busy summer boat traffic in the harbor and enlarged his father’s Varrell Lane dock. “My dad and I dug in a lot of those pilings. They were made of green oak and they are heavy as the dickens.” In his mid-20s, he began Donnell’s Dockage, proving fuel and dock space for boaters as well as renting row boats for recreation. His dad, meanwhile, continued his lobster pound operation.

Meanwhile, he also worked at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, retiring as a general foreman. It was his job to build “from scratch” the massive, tall cranes that today dot the shipyard’s skyline. “We’d get them in pieces and we built them.”

By the time he retired at 53, his children were running Donnell’s, and he and his wife bought the wharf next door at the end of Simpson Lane. “I didn’t want to buy this place. Thank God for her, she said we should have it. We lifted the roof up and made a second floor.”

It was then that she opened Cap’n Dan’s Restaurant.

“She’d get up at 4 or 5 in the morning and boil lobsters,” he said. “She cooked every single day and picked out the meat. She’d stay until 9 or 10 at night. She was a great lady.”

It was a difficult adjustment for him after she died in 2004, Donnell admits. But not long afterward Donnell began volunteering at the hospital.

“At the time, I guess it was about the only place to volunteer,” he said. “It’s a great place to meet people and I’ve met some fantastic people both on staff and volunteers. On Mondays, I’m at the entrance and I escort people to wherever they want to go. I like that. On Thursdays, I work in supply.

“I love it. If you stay home, you don’t meet a damned person,” he said with a laugh.

Friends and family will gather Saturday, March 17, to celebrate Donnell’s centennial birthday. There will be an open house at the York Harbor Inn from 2 to 5 p.m., and those who know him are invited to stop by and wish him well.

Awarded the Silver Star for actions in Korea

The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Silver Star (Posthumously) to Corporal Joseph C. D. Violette (ASN: RA-11198353), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with Medical Company, 31st Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division, in action near Mundung-ni, Korea, on 6 November 1951. On this date, Corporal Violette was a Medical Aid Man for Tank Company which was on a patrol. Early in the patrol, the lead tank was struck and disabled by enemy anti-tank fire. With complete disregard for his own personal safety, Corporal Violette immediately came forward through an enemy mine field in a light vehicle (M-39 Personnel Carrier). Upon his arrival at the burning tank, Corporal Violette dismounted and under a hail of enemy anti-tank, mortar, automatic weapons and small arms fire, personally supervised and aided in the removing of an unconscious man from the turret of the enflamed tank. Without thought for his own safety, he remained exposed to the intense enemy fire until he had loaded the wounded on the M-39. As the M-39 was returning to friendly lines, the vehicle hit an enemy mine and over-turned. Corporal Violette had saved the lives of the men trapped in the burning tank, but sacrificed his own, as he was mortally injured in the overturning of the evacuation vehicle. The gallantry displayed by Corporal Violette reflects great credit on himself and is in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service.

He was predeceased by sons, Michael, Norman and James. He is survived by brother, Reginald Violette of Glastonbury, Conn.; children, Carleen Collins, Mark Violette and Carol Bennett; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by Dorothy Violette.

Jane A. Miner, 76, of Holden, peacefully passed away in her home on February 24, 2022. She was born March 1, 1945, in Lewiston to John Violette and Marguerite (Letendre) Violette.
Jane graduated from St. Dominic's Academy in 1963, as the first female valedictorian. She taught high school English and French in Eastport. But found her calling, working 32 years for the Department of Health and Human Services in Bangor.
In 1975 she married the love of her life, Thomas S. Miner Jr. and they had two children, Gary Anthony Miner and Mandy Lee (Miner) McFadden.
Jane exuberated love and kindness in everything she did and with everyone she met. She enjoyed traveling, camping, swimming, fishing and was an avid walker. She also enjoyed the fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers from Tom's gardens.
Jane was predeceased by her son, Gary Miner; and her parents. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Miner of Holden; daughter, Mandy McFadden of Boise ID; grandchildren, Gavon S. McFadden of Warrenton, OR, and Cayden and Dawson Miner of Glenburn; and her brothers, Robert Violette and John Violette of Lewiston and Ronald Violette of Raynhan, MA.

Robert Edward Violette, “Bob”, 76, of Lewiston, went to Heaven, though unexpectedly, on Oct. 25, 2023, alongside his longtime love, Lucy.

Bob was a retired Sears Mechanic, who recently worked for Lee Cars in Auburn, and was most recently enjoying his retirement. He was born and raised in Lewiston and was a son of John H. Violette and Marguerite (Letendre) Violette. Though he was a lifelong resident of Lewiston, Bob had earlier traveled the country as a truck driver and saw much of the world while serving his country in the U.S. Navy. He met and married the love of his life, Lucille (Hartford) Violette and together they created a loving home with their most valuable assets, their three sons. Bob was a proud father, and grandfather, always finding a way to be exactly what his family needed, the rock of the family.

Bob was a man of integrity, love and kindness, and knew how to make you smile. He was patient, and had a true passion for sharing wisdom, life lessons and teaching in any capacity. These attributes made him a well-received coach for the Youth Bowling League for many years, where he volunteered every Wednesday night as an extra practice night, in addition to Youth League Saturdays, to offer additional guidance for the children who participated in the sport. Through his years of coaching he developed close connections with numerous children and families, and truly enjoyed watching them grow and evolve. Bob has touched countless lives in this capacity and had a particularly close bond with a child he coached, Owen B.

When Bob was not coaching bowling, he was either bowling in a men’s league, bowling in a couples league with his wife, or spending time with his family. Bob leaves behind a legacy that is irreplaceable, teaching his children and grandchildren to always put family first, and so many things that his surviving family hold dear to their hearts. His love and guidance lives on in all of our hearts, as well as his warm embrace and big hugs.

Bob is predeceased by his parents, John H. Violette and Marguerite Violette, as well as his sister, Jane Miner. Bob is survived by his son, Andrew Violette of Leeds, son Thomas Violette of Lewiston, son John Violette and wife Cassandra Violette currently of Oklahoma, as well as six grandchildren, Joshua, Conner, Owen, Chloe, Madelyn and Hannah Violette, as well as brothers, John H. Violette Jr. of Lewiston and Ron Violette of Massachusetts.

The family invites you to a time of visitation on Monday November 6, from 4-7 p.m., at Fortin Group Funeral Home, 217 Turner St., AUBURN. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Tuesday November 7, at 10 a.m., at East Auburn Baptist Church, 560 Park Ave. Auburn. A private family committal will take place following the service.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Rita Dube Bouchard on September 15, 2021. Our Mom was born on February 10, 1933 in Van Buren, Maine, the daughter of Annette Dube. She was raised by her grandparents, Cerile and Ozithe Dube. She was married to the love of her life, “her Romeo” for seventy one years. She leaves behind her four children, Lillian Picard from Chester, NH, Phil and his wife, Linda from St. Agatha, Maine, John and his wife, Robin from Robbinston, Maine , and Linda and her husband, Russell from Old Orchard Beach, Maine. She also leaves behind her sister, Gloria from Caribou, Maine. She was predeceased by her husband, Romeo, her son, David, her son in law Guy Picard, her sister Patsy, her brothers, Clarence, Jim, Robert, and Ray.

She adored her grandkids, Troy, Amy, Bruce, Helen, Elise, Paul, Craig and Chad. Also her great grandkids, Cynthia, Jonathan, Lucy, Emma, Jason, Ethan, Kristin, Jacob and Robin, Sebastien, Loren, Sawyer, Tate, Violet, Aspen, Austin, Jocelyn and McKenzie.

Our Mom was married at a very young age and learned to be a great wife and mother through the help of her mother in law, Madame Helen. Her aunt Jeannette was also instrumental in her upbringing and motherhood.

Mom had a passion and love for flowers, a passion that she passed on to her children. If you told her that she had beautiful flowers, you had a friend for life. She was mostly a stay at home Mom, but did work several years at what was known as the Mill Outlet in Madawaska. She was also a past president and member of the Ladies of Saint Anne which she was so proud of. Both Mom and Dad were remembered for their elaborate Christmas decorations at their home which became known as “The Gingerbread House.”

The family would like to thank our little angels at Ridgewood Estates for their devoted care and compassion during Mom’s stay. A special thank you to Mrs. Rolande Ouellette, Mom’s roommate at Ridgewood. A mass will be held at St. Luce Catholic Church on Saturday, October 2 at 10:00AM. Contributions may be made to Ridgewood Estates for the activity fund at 480 Ridgeview Ave., Madawaska, Maine 04756.

VAN BUREN - Clarence Violette, 85, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 1, 2021, at a Caribou hospital. He was born May 27, 1935, in Van Buren, a son of the late Leo and Annette (Dube) Violette.
He started working at a young age for a construction company at Loring Air Force Base, Limestone. On November 25, 1953, Clarence married the love of his life, Stella Lapointe, and shortly later relocated to Connecticut for better work opportunities. He worked several construction jobs in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York, until they decided to buy a mobile home. The purchase of the mobile home launched Clarence and Stella on a journey for the next ten years with their young sons, Michael and Richard. In 1955, Clarence was hired as a construction foreman by Economy Forms Corporation (EFCO), which was based in Des Moines, Iowa. With EFCO, he worked large-scale construction projects in New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., and Long Island, New York. Eventually, they settled in Westbrook, CT, in 1966, where they started to build their first home, and, following the birth of their son, Patrick, in 1967, moved into the new home just before Christmas. They remained in Westbrook until Clarence retired in 1998, where he spent 43 years with EFCO, and climbed the ranks to District Manager for New England. Following retirement, he and his wife relocated back to their hometown of Van Buren, Maine, where they moved into and renovated his parents' home.
Clarence spent countless hours volunteering in Westbrook, where he became a loyal parishioner at St. Mark's Church, a Trustee of the Parish, and he oversaw many renovations to the church's buildings. He was a member of the volunteer fire department/ambulance association in Westbrook and an assistant troop leader for the Boys Scouts of America. During his retirement, he was instrumental in the renovation of St. Bruno - St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren, in 2002. Though Clarence will be sadly missed, he will forever be remembered for his long life of service to the Lord, his family, and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of more than 67 years, Stella (Lapointe) Violette of Van Buren; two sons, Richard Violette and his wife, Kelly, of Westbrook, CT, and Patrick Violette and his wife, Liuby, of Madison, CT; two sisters, Rita Bouchard of Frenchville and Gloria Theriault of Caribou; nine grandchildren and stepgrandchildren, Sarah Rose, Joshua, Ashleigh, Kevin, Jacques, Matthew, Nicholas, Christopher and Jason; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Clarence was predeceased by a son, Michael Violette; siblings, Leo James, Raymond and Robert Violette, and Patricia Hill; and infant brothers, Harold and Elmer.

Robert J. Violette, 63, of Rocky Hill, husband of Maria (Saraceno) Violette died Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Hartford Hospital. Robert was born September 6, 1947 in Van Buren, Maine and was a son of the late Leo F. and Annette (Dubay) Violette. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, serving from 1966 to 1968, and a former Bristol resident. He has resided in Rocky Hill for the past 20 years. He was a member of Union Local 43 and was previously employed for several years at O & G Construction where he worked on many roads and bridges in Hartford. Robert was currently employed as the Director of Maintenance at The Children's Center of Hamden. In addition to his wife Mr. Violette is survived by a son: Brian Violette of Bristol; a daughter and son-in-law: Janis and Ross Cook of Southington; a brother: Clarence Violette and his wife Stella of Van Buren, ME; two sisters: Rita Bouchard and her husband Romeo of Frenchville, ME and Gloria Theriault and her husband George of Caribou, ME; a sister-in-law: Isabelle Violette of Bristol; six grandchildren: Michaela, Abigail, and Tyler Violette, and Kristy, Mackenzie, and Rosco Cook; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two brothers: Raymond and James Violette, and a sister: Patricia Hill. Robert's continual smile was enjoyed by all who knew and loved him. His leisure time was spent playing cards with his friends at the VFW and playing with his grandchildren.

Pauline Gilmore September 19, 1919 - July 27, 2012 Griswold - Pauline (Polly) Gilmore 92 of Griswold died Friday, July 27, 2012 at her home in Griswold. She was born on Voluntown on September 19, 1919, daughter of the late Adelard and Marie (Violette) Dupont. Pauline lived life to it's fullest, an amazing role model to all who knew her. Born at a time without indoor plumbing or electricity, when horse-drawn carriages took her shopping, she witnessed the transformation of our world into the age of technology, never hesitating to embrace it herself. Marrying Gerald Gilmore in 1951, they enjoyed 58 beautiful years together until his passing in 2009. Pauline's interest in genealogy led her to establish the Fort Meyers Genealogy Library, one of the largest of its kind, and become its Founding Director. Pauline's artistic talents manifested themselves in every way throughout her life, becoming an avid gardener, painter, crafter, and seamstress, she loved to crochet, became a photographer, baker and reader. She left her artistic footprint all over the country by sharing her paintings with friends and family. Community theatres benefited from her many talents, both on stage where she performed, and behind the scenes where she created costumes, did make-up and more. Because Pauline had a special place in her heart, and a unique flair for the bridal industry, after taking classes in merchandising, she opened her own business, Polly's Bridal House in Ledyard for many years. She eventually became a Bridal Consultant, she was a wedding photographer and she created beautiful wedding cakes. Active in her church, Pauline served as President of the Relief Society and was its State Representative. Pauline's zest for life kept her active every day by swimming, dancing, white water rafting, or biking. She always embraced new experiences, which led her to swimming with dolphins and manatees, conducting music, snorkeling in the Caribbean, becoming a Sunday School teacher, and much more. Pauline would make any experience interesting and exciting, sharing wonderful and fascinating stories and anecdotes of her past with those around her. Her love of life was infectious and inspiring. From children to animals, from art to music, from parades to fireworks to decorating all-out for the holidays, you could always find Pauline at the center of fun and laughter. Her personal philosophy of embracing every moment will live on in the memories of all who knew this amazing woman, especially her family. Wishing to be remembered in celebration of her rich and abundant life experiences. Pauline is survived by her son, Dale Carter and his wife, Pat of Harwinton, Mark Gilmore of Griswold and his fiancé, Sandy Fiore, and Craig Gilmore and his partner Troy Henderson of Sarasota, FL. Also surviving her are her sister, June Martin and her husband Earl, of Uncasville and Theodore Dupont of Griswold, and as well as seven grandchildren, 13 great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Gerald Gilmore, her son, Delmore Carter, her brother, Robert Dupont and her sister, Shirley Raymond. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 11AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 597 Scotland Rd., Norwich, CT. Burial will following at Gales Ferry Cemetery in Gales Ferry. A calling hour will be held at the church from 10AM to the time of the service. She was born on July 15, 1947 to George and Marion (Griffin) Violette in Norwich, CT.
She was predeceased by her mother Marion (Griffin) Violette and sister Linda Joyce Violette. She leaves behind her husband Edward Marchesseault and her children Lisa Wickham, Greg Chaput, Keith LeMoine, Roger and Christan Bushy, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pat had a huge heart and showed her love to everyone. She had a nurturing quality that started as a young girl in helping with all her younger siblings, her children along with foster care children. She had a passion for knitting beautiful afghans, slippers, hats, scarves, mittens and booties many of which were for her family members and donations. She looked forward to bringing her camper on many visits to Maine. She adored her Uncle Frank and always enjoyed seeing her family there in Maine.
A celebration of life will be held April 27, 2019 from 1:00-5:00PM at the American Legion 66 Prospect Street Moosup, CT. The Gagne Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Road Jewett City, CT has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Eileen Violette Pelletier, born Jan. 27, 1962, passed away on April 7, 2021 after a brave battle with cancer. She was the daughter of Henry and Dorothy (Dionne) Violette. She lived in Auburn her entire life. She married Paul Pelletier on July 27, 1996.Eileen graduated from Edward Little High School with the class of 1980. She began working at Cottle’s at the age of 16 and continued working there through its transition to Hannaford Bros., retiring from there as a Customer Service Manager in 2000. After a brief retirement, she returned to work in 2007 as a Toll Collector for the Maine Turnpike Authority, where she remained working until March of 2020.When not working Eileen enjoyed spending her time on her deck or in her swimming pool with her family and friends; most likely taking pictures or a video of everyone. Eileen was an avid reader and when not reading she was cross stitching; most likely a Christmas stocking, a baby blanket, or a frameable picture scene.Eileen was predeceased by her parents; her sister Nancy Violette Steele; and her niece Amanda Steele. Besides her husband, she leaves behind her stepson, Dr. Andrew Pelletier of Bowling Green, Ohio; her brothers, Thomas (Deborah) Violette of Chester Springs, Pa., and Kenneth (Cynthia) Violette of Auburn; nieces and nephews, Adam, Evan, and Jenna Violette, Zachary Steele, Emily Libby, Taylor Hart, and Lea Violette; great nieces and nephews, Calee and Cash Libby, Henri and Quinlan Steele, and Avery Violette.Eileen and her family were most appreciative of her care provided by Dr. Devon Evans and his team at New England Cancer.Messages of condolence may be sent to: http://www.finleyfuneralhome.comIn keeping with her wishes there will be no services. EAGLE LAKE – Jim Violette, 51, died peacefully May 27, 2010, at his residence. He was born Sept. 25, 1958, in Hartford, Conn., the son of Norman and Dorothy Violette. He was a well-known businessman. He devoted his life to his family. Jim was involved in his children’s activities, especially basketball and golf. He loved to golf, ride his motorcycle and the outdoors. Jim is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sue; his daughter, Kristin; his son, Jeremy; his parents, Norman and Dorothy Violette; his brother, Mark; his sisters, Carleen Collins and Carol Bennett; nieces, nephew, cousins, aunts and uncles. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. June 7 at St. Mary’s Parish, Eagle Lake. A scholarship fund has been set up in memory of Jim for a child attending a technical college. Flora O. O'Neil, 79, of Berlin NH, passed away March 2, 2005, at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin with her family by her side. Born March 23, 1925, in Calais ME, she was the daughter of Arthur and Rose (Violette) Montminy. Mrs. O'Neil married Chester James O'Neil, who passed away July 3, 1996.

She was a member of St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish and M.E.S.H. and retired from the James River Co., having worked in the Towel Room.

She is survived by her daughters Patricia Horne and husband Robert, and Theresa O'Neil of Berlin; brother Roger Montminy of Pepperell MA; sisters Pauline LaPlante of Longueil, Canada, and Gloria Couture of San Diego CA; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Beside her husband she was predeceased by her son SP 4 James O'Neil, in 1976.
