    Obituary: Washburn - Constance M. Nevers, 73, wife of the late Herman F. Nevers, died March 19, 2001, at a Caribou healthcare facility. She was born Oct. 18, 1927,
    in St. Leonard, N.B., Canada, the daughter of John and Adele (Lavoie) Violette. She was a den mother and
    very active with her husband in the Boy Scouts. During her illness Connie's inner strength, faith and uplifting
    spirit saw her through the hard times. She is survived by a daughter, Carol Doughty of Washburn; twin
    granddaughters, Erin and Erica Doughty; four brothers, Martin Violette of Plaster Rock, N.B., Gilbert Violette
    of Edmundston, N.B., Gerald Violette of Greenwood, Nova Scotia, Eugene Violette of California; two sisters,
    Armand "Vi" Violette of Exeter, N.H., Bernadette Page of Sioux St. Marie, Ontario. She will be remembered
    by special friends, Alphonse and Corinne Levesque and their children, all of Caribou. In addition to her
    husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Enoil Violette. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday
    at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle with the Rev. Leopold Nicknair officiating.
    Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service. Spring interment will be in Crouseville Cemetery.

    Martin Violette of Oxbow, NB, passed away peacefully at the Tobique Valley Manor on the morning of July 21, 2017.

    Martin was born in St-Leonard, NB, on January 31, 1936. He was the son of the late Armand and Adelle (Lavoie) Violette. Martin leaves behind his daughter, Janice Violette of Mississauga, ON; his sons, Wayne Violette of Oxbow, NB, and Dean Violette of Hamilton, ON; his grandson, Ethan Billings.

    Martin was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Laura Violette (Burgoyne); sisters Constance, Bernadette, and Vi; brothers, Gerald, Gilbert, Enol "Whitey", and Eugene.

    A graveside service was held at Burntland Brook Cemetery on Saturday, August 5th, 2017 at 11 am. Father Gilbert Doddatto officiated.

    Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock.

    At Domaine des Bâtisseurs, on May 28, 2016, at the age of 75 years and 3 months, passed away Mr. Gilbert ``Gib`` Violette, residing in Edmundston, husband of Mrs. Alexina ``Alix`` Bélanger, son of the late Mr. Thomas Violette and the late Mrs. Adèle Lavoie.

    Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters: Michelle and Tina, the children of his wife: Gisèle Weatherhead (late Jack) of Fredericton, Roméo Martin (Ghislaine) of Edmundston, Lise Martin of Edmundston, Mariette Gendreau (Wil ) from Edmundston, Jacques Martin (Maryse Grondin) from Edmundston, Yves Martin (Aline Pelletier) from Edmundston, Sylvie Lebel (André) from St-Basile, her sister Bernadette (Félix) from Sault-Sainte-Marie ON, her brothers : Martin from Plaster Rock NB, Eugène from Washington DC, his grandchildren, his great-grandchildren, as well as several nephews and nieces. He now rests with his parents and siblings.

    His funeral will take place on Wednesday, June 1 , 2016 at 4 p.m. in the Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs church with interment in the Rivière-Verte cemetery.

    The family of Mr. Gilbert ``Gib`` Violette will welcome friends from 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Bellavance Funeral Home at 153 Canada Road in Edmundston. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. 45.

    Mr. Violette was a member of CN Pensioners Council #3.
