    In Genealogies of the Catholic Families of Maine, New Brunswick, and the Province of Quebec as Marguerite file de Eloi et Celeste Martin but this is thought to be an error because church records indicate that this Marguerite died in 1869. Gary Levesque found that in the marrige record for Marguerite to Simon Martin, Regis Violette was present presumably her father, as was the custom, so it is believe that his daughter born as Maxite Lisette was known as Marguerite because the 1900 census shows her birth date as Mar 1844, which matches Maxite's.

    He is survived by eight children, Georgie Martin of Van Buren, Nancy Violette of Caribou, Geneva Pelletier of Kittery, Patsy Smith of Mississippi, Daniel Violette of Van Buren, Claudette Levesque of Madawaska, Michael Violette of Van Buren, and Susan Millrod of Connecticut; one brother, Robert Violette of Hamlin; three sisters, Eva Nunley of Hamlin, Shirley Violette of Van Buren and Aline Deese of Alabama; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

    Besides his parents, George is predeceased by his wife Marcella (Gagnon) Violette in 1959, a grandson Terry Martin in 2008, and several brothers and sisters.

    NELSON VIOLETTE VAN BUREN Nelson Violette 64 died unexpectedly Sept 25 2005 at his Laplante Heights residence. He was born March 6 1941 in Van Buren the son of Fred and Catherine (Martin) Violette. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for many years for the town of Van Buren highway department. Nelson is survived by two daughters Sonia Dubay and her husband Paul of Palm City Fla and Kim Morin of St David, three grandchildren Natalie and Eric Morin of St David, and Adam Dubay of Florida, three brothers Alfred Violette, and George Violette both of Van Buren, Robert Violette of Hamlin, six sisters Cecile Violette, Eva Nunley, and Shirley Violette all of Van Buren, Jeannette Lint of Columbia SC, Freda Cyr of New Britain Conn, and Aline Deese of Fruitdale Ala. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by one brother Omer Violette, and by two sisters Gilberte Pasko, and Rita Bergen. She was born Feb. 6, 1916, in Fort Kent, the daughter of Abel and Frances (Patten) Violette. She was a graduate of Van Buren High School. Flora was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her family. She was also employed at L.S. Hall and Martin’s Clothing, Caribou, for a number of years. She was a member of Gray Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was also a member of United Methodist Women’s Group. Flora was also a member of Caribou Extension and Caribou Hoofers. She is survived by a son, James Philbrick and his wife, Valerie, of Caribou; three daughters, Florina L. Willis of Hamden, Ruth W. Bryant and her husband, Kenneth, of Winthrop and Janet Chandler of Lincoln; one sister, Hattie Gahagan of Manchester, Conn.; seven grandchildren Michele Theriault, Heather Perry, Trenton Chandler, Mairi St.Amand, Andrew Bryant, Jennifer Sherman and Lacie Philbrick; seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Coleman, Woodrow and Alphy Violette.     AUGUSTA – Aurella “Mollie” Violette of Augusta, Maine died peacefully on December 22, 2014 at Maine General Rehab & Nursing Home at Glenridge in Augusta after a long illness. She was 87. Mollie was born on November 27, 1927 in Van Buren, Maine, the daughter of Willie Bruno Violette and Sophie Thibodeau Violette.

    She was a graduate of Cony High School, class of 1946. Mollie was very good at free-hand drawing and was chosen to do the 1946 Cony class yearbook cover. She could also do people’s profiles. After high school, Mollie was employed by the State of Maine in the Highway Department, and also the Motor Vehicle and Vital Statistics Departments. She also attended nursing school in Michigan.

    Mollie was predeceased by her parents, 3 brothers, Matthew, Cleo and Duward Violette, 4 sisters, Agnella Larson, Muriel Brown, Aurora Violette and Roween Foote, 2 nephews, Robert Larson, Jr. and Laurence Foote, and 2 nieces, Melody Hackett and Karen Larson. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Burial took place on Friday, May 15th at St. Joseph’s Cemetary in Gardiner, ME. Mollie’s family would like to thank Staples Funeral Home and the staff at Glenridge Nursing Home for their professional and compassionate service during this difficult time.
