Jacques of Superior Township, MI; one sister, Gertrude Beaudoin of Troy, NY; three brothers, Roy Violette of Boynton Beach, FL, Fernand Violette of Lakeworth, FL, Wilfred Violette of Montreal, Canada; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Services: 9 a.m. April 21, 2003 at St. Mary's Church Baldwinsville. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Massena.

    Boynton Beach. Roy R. Violette, 99, passed away at Trustbridge Hospice, Boca Raton on Sunday, December 20, 2020. Roy was born in Van Buren, Maine on December 4, 1921 to Joseph F. and Marie Sophie Cyr Violette.

    At the age of 17 Roy left the farm where he grew up in northern Maine for a job in Hartford, Connecticut. He later moved to Lake Worth, Florida where he worked at the Palm Beach home of Alfred P. Sloan, chairman of General Motors Corporation. He later became Mr. Sloan’s personal chauffeur in Palm Beach and New York from 1947 to 1955. After Mr. Sloan’s retirement, Roy returned to Hartford and married Jean Chesney in 1955. He then went to work for aircraft engine manufacturer Pratt and Whitney in Hartford until transferring to their plant in West Palm Beach where he worked as a machinist until he retired.

    Roy always had a positive, joyful attitude, met everyone with a warm smile and was loved by all. He was hard working and always willing to help friends and neighbors. Roy had a green thumb and kept his home and yard in pristine condition.

    Roy was predeceased by his wife Jean, his son Thomas, four sisters and nine brothers.

    Fernand Violette, 91, died December 12, 2014 in Lake Worth, Florida. He was predeceased by his wife, Jackie. He is survived by a son, Tim Violette of Lake Wales, Florida and a daughter, Marlene Griffin of Hamilton, Montana. He is also survived by a brother, Roy Violette, of Boynton Beach, Florida. Fern served in the US Army during World War II. He served as General Patton's personal driver and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Fern was awarded the Bronze Star and the Combat Infantry Badge amongst other awards. In January 2012 Fern was awarded the French Legion of Honor for his combat service in France. After World War II, Fern moved to Lake Worth where he owned and operated Fern's Texaco Service Station on North Dixie then worked for the City of Lake Worth. Fern was a member of the American Legion Post 47 and the former VFW Post 3588.

    BANGOR - Joseph O. Violette, 89, passed away peacefully March 18, 2013, surrounded by his family. Joe was born July 8, 1923, in Keegan, to Severin and Marguerite (Martin) Violette. He was one of nine children.
    Joe graduated from Van Buren High School in 1943 and then immediately entered the U.S. Army Infantry to serve our country in North Africa, Italy and France, as an anti-tank gun crewman. When he returned to Maine he enrolled in the Bangor School of Commerce, where he graduated with an associate degree in accounting. He later received an honorary Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Husson College in 1995. Joe began his career at Bangor Roofing as an accountant. From there he worked as the comptroller at Stanley J. Leen Electric, Brewer, until his retirement. Joe was also a business entrepreneur buying, renovating and renting apartment houses and co-owning Dunkin' Donuts franchises in Brunswick, Presque Isle and Bucksport. Joe married Beatrice LeVasseur from Limestone, June 14, 1948. They raised four "awesome" children. He will be remembered for his kind, generous and outgoing nature. He loved to tell jokes, especially "corny" ones, which the family refers to as "Joe jokes." He dedicated his life to providing for his family. He enjoyed playing golf and was a longtime member of Penobscot Valley Country Club. After retiring he and Bea spent many enjoyable winters at their home in Florida. Joe belonged to the Bangor Jaycees, Lion's Club and Knights of Columbus. He initiated St. Mary's St. Matthews Federal Credit Union in 1964 and was president for many years.
    Joe is survived by his wife of 64 years, Beatrice; his four children, Norma Gomez and husband, Mike, Catherine Violette, Mark Violette and his wife, Pamela, and Lisa Norsworthy and husband, David; grandchildren, Erin Valenzula, Kelly Mullhern, Alexander and Blake Violette and Jeffrey Lovely, Katie, Jake and Michelle Norsworthy; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Theresa Violette, Simonne Violette, Lorraine Gagnon and Priscilla Blier; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Carmen Couturier; and brothers, Louis, Martin and O'Neil Violette. The family extends its heartfelt thanks to the staff of Maine Veterans Home, Bangor, and Community Health and Counseling Services Hospice for their excellent and compassionate care.
    Family and friends may visit 4-6 p.m. Friday, March 22, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ohio Street, Bangor. Burial with military honors will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. A reception will be held immediately afterward in the parish center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Activity Fund at Maine Veterans Home, 44 Hogan Road, Bangor, ME 04401.

    Theresa M. Violette passed from this world on September 25, 2019 just 18 days before her 95th birthday. She was born in Keegan, Maine, the daughter of Severin and Margeurite Violette, and grew up in Van Buren with her parents and 8 siblings.
    After graduating from Sacred Heart High School in Van Buren, Theresa (aka TT) worked as a phone operator on the graveyard shift, and she liked to joke about how her job made her privy to all the town's gossip. Eventually, she settled in Bangor and worked for the phone company until her retirement in the mid-80's. She loved retirement and immensely enjoyed "puttering" around the house doing projects, lovingly caring for her blackberry patch and tomatoes, and always making sure her local family had her special "TT fudge" and bread for holidays. She took a quilting class and would hand-quilt lovely blankets. She was also a wonderful knitter and many of us benefited from her afghans. Theresa was a bright light and a loving constant to her family. She had many nieces and nephews that thought of her as a second mother. We could always depend on her warmth, hugs, encouragement, and wonderful sense of humor. As her health declined in recent years, she moved to Dirigo Pines where she quickly won over the staff by, as was reported to her family, her "unfailingly pleasant" personality. The family would like to thank them for their care and love.
    Theresa is survived by two sisters, Lorraine Gagnon of Greenville, SC and Priscilla Blier and husband Roland of Bridgeport, CT and too many nieces and nephews to mention.

He was drafted into the US Army and served from 1944 to 1946 in the Field Artillery Battalion which deployed to the European Theatre during World War II. After his military service he was employed by James Franck Sr Albert Franck and then Jimmy Frank Jr at their grocery stores and slaughter houses. It was then he started his lifelong career as a meat cutter while utilizing his Gl benefits. He was then employed as a meat cutter at the commissary at Loring Air Force Base retiring after 27 years. He was a life member of the American Legion Levasseur-Farrell Post No 49 of Van Buren and the VFW Lister-Knowlton Post No 9389 of Caribou and enjoyed participating in their activities. Hector was an avid outdoorsman no matter the season and was happiest when outside. He enjoyed hunting fishing camping and riding his ATV. He loved his family immensely and they in turn. He was a good father husband and provider who was loved dearly and will be sorely missed by all. He married Lucille Rivard daughter of Rodolphe and Cecile (Bouchard) Rivard in St Leonard New Brunswick Aug 2 1949. In addition to his wife Lucille of Van Buren he is survived by three daughters Anne Labbe and her husband Roger of Lisbon Falls, Katherine Dubay of Winthrop and Jeannine Dubay of Lewiston, two sons Richard "Dicky" Dubay of Dover NH, and David Dubay and his wife Reba of Austin Texas, three grandchildren Eric Labbe Robyn Dubay and Simone Dubay two great-grand-children Drew and Madison Labbe, three brothers Emery Dubay of Sanford Guy Dubay of East Hartford Conn, and Bob Dubay and his wife Rena of Mapleton eight sisters Edna Bouchard of Ayers Mass., Louise Cyr of Winter Park Fla., Artheline Girardin and husband Gus of Windsor Locks Conn., Cecile Clavette and husband Eddie of Ellington Conn., Teresa Smiarowski Jeanne Mitera and husband Dick all of Plainville Conn., Juliette Laria and husband John of West Hartford Conn., and Alice Dionne of South Windsor Conn., a sister-in-law Muriel Dubay of New Hartford Conn., many nieces nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by brothers Homer, Gilbert, and Leon Dubay Jr and by sisters Gertrude Tousignant, Pauline Roullard, Sister Leanne Dubay and Isabelle Dubay. Due to family considerations his funeral will be postponed until May 2008. Relatives and friends may call 9 am until the time of the service Saturday May 24 at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home 118 High St Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 am Saturday May 24. Interment will be afterwards at the parish cemetery.
