What can you say about a wonderful young man who seemed bigger than life? We say HE left us way too soon! This world is forever changed for those who know him! Joshua Ryan Violette, 32 years young, passed on August 22, 2020 due to an ATV accident in The Forks. Joshua was born Sept. 4, 1987 and was a joyous spitfire since birth. He was very athletic, and played sports throughout school. He graduated high school, had some college but was motivated to work hard in his family business, Central Maine Drywall. He had a dream to be a business owner, so it was no surprise that he became a successful entrepreneur. Joshua owned and operated Central Maine Technology, Maine Lawn Barber, and the Burn Crew. He bought, sold, and owned properties, as well as having apartment rentals. He was quite a fitness guru finding time each day to work out and lift weights at many gyms during his daily travels for work. Being very productive, Joshua saw life as an adventurous journey, along with his great work ethic came his playful loving personality that needed to have fun, and that he did! A phrase he often used was, “I’m in Love!” and that was how he lived- loving life! He enjoyed riding motorcycles, ATVs, boats, jet skis, snowboards, hiking, chilling on a beach, hunting, eating great food, and traveling the world. This would seem like a busy life, but what he added to all those activities were friends and family. He had to be around people. With his awesome personality and contagious laugh people were drawn to him.Very dear to him was his relationship with his nieces and nephews. “Uncle Joshy” always found time to visit bringing snacks, hugs, gifts, and great playtime. He made them feel so special! The greatest gift he has left behind are those precious memories!Sadly missed by his parents, Gary and Lynne Violette, of Manchester; brother, Kaleb Violette, wife DeEtte, daughters Claire and Cora of Readfield; sister, Kristi Violette and her son Mason, and brother, Levi Violette, both of Augusta. He was very close to his uncle, Larry and aunt, Chrystal Violette of Manchester, their son, Stephen Violette, wife Ashley and children Makayla, Mathias, Emerson and Elliot; Gabriel and Ashley Flewelling and their children, Seth, Brooke and Ruth; and cousin, Ryan Violette, of Winthrop; paternal grandparents, Leo and Rina Violette of Manchester, maternal grandparents, Robert and Sylvia Cunningham of Winslow; aunt Lisa Landry and husband Russell of Norridgewock; Deb Violette, of Augusta and daughters Kate Spencer, husband James of Colorado; Jessica and Jake Swan of Vassalboro; uncle, Ronald Violette of Winthrop and sons, Ben Violette, wife Victoria of Readfield, Nick Violette of Colorado, and Corey Allen of Pownal; Amy Violette, Sidney, and Stacey Beckim, husband Shane of Augusta.A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Elks Club, Civic Center Dr., Augusta, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m. for family and close friends only, due to Covid restrictions. Notes:

MANCHESTER – Levi Leo Violette, born on April 4, 1991, has sadly left this life for heaven on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at his home in Manchester.

Levi was a smart, very active, polite, kind, loving, and curious child who grew into an attractive awesome man, carrying those child-like qualities into adulthood. Levi was bigger than life with a gregarious personality, outrageous sense of humor, being kind to all because he truly cared for people. He was also not judgmental nor materialistic, totally unselfish and willing to help. His handsome charm and outgoing character overtook a room with a contagious smile that people were drawn to and loved being around. He had a huge heart which just sought comfort, happiness, and love with others. Levi never met a stranger, just a future friend. He was known for his signature hugs, saying “hey! I need a hug!” Or “Hey give me a hug!” Even calling family and friends to meet him just to give a hug, and they would! A valued friend to the friendless, he was loyal to ALL; A rare kind of person who loved all and forgave anything, just naturally a wonderful human being.

Levi worked very hard, loved being productive, and helped to build the family business, eventually he became part owner of the business. The most grueling workday was better with his funny, energetic presence. He was very intelligent and multi-talented so working during a blasting rush was exciting to him, and that is why he was so good at his job.

Levi simply enjoyed all activities, swimming, boating, fishing, disc golf, travel, good food, nature hikes, and playing with children. He LOVED God and family, but especially, because he loved being a child, he would play endlessly with kids, stating he enjoyed it more than they did, they all knew and loved their Uncle Levi. He looked at life like an adventurous journey, spreading a kind word or giving a helping hand, he truly was a people person. He loved to share conversations and he could get someone to see the world through his eyes, and then he wanted to know how they felt about the same subject, respecting their point of view as being as valid as his.

Levi was dealt a crushing blow on Aug. 22, 2020, when his very close big brother, Joshua, was tragically killed in an accident. His world drastically changed since Joshua loved him unconditionally and was quite supportive. The security of knowing his big brother always cared and would be there for him was comforting, making that loss unbearable. They had a very special bond that Levi missed so much. Levi had a life-threatening disease of addiction; coping became too difficult and exacerbated a relapse. He constantly sought solace, healing, and happiness but was left with emptiness, feeling alone in a crowded room. He never gave up and courageously faced detox and was enrolled in a program associated with a trade school; he was leaving within days. Ultimately the man that helped so many and who we tried to save, could not be saved from himself.

There will be a celebration of life on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021, at 3 p.m. at the Augusta Elks Club on Civic Center Drive, with dining after the service.

Levi is survived by his parents, Gary and Lynne Violette of Manchester, his loving and supportive sister, Kristi Violette of Augusta, who was always there for Levi, he’d say “I need sissy time!” She would drop everything to try to speak with him, her son, Mason who adored his Uncle Levi, looks just like him and shared much time with him which caused them to develop a very special bond. A wonderful friend and adopted brother, Mark Charest of Augusta, who never gave up on Levi and always made time to spend with him. A brother, Kaleb Violette and family in Readfield, a maternal grandfather, Robert Cunningham of Winslow, aunt, Lisa and uncle, Russel of Norridegwock; paternal grandparents, Leo and Rina Violette of Manchester, Uncle Larry and Aunt Chrystal Violette of Manchester, Ryan Violette family of Gardiner, Stephen Violette and family of Winthrop, Corey Allen and family of Auburn, Ben Violette and family of Readfield, Nicholas Violette and family of North Carolina, Aunt Deb Violette of Augusta, Jessica Swan and family of Vassalboro, Kate Violette and family of Colorado, Amy Violette and family of Oakland, Stacy Beckim and family of Augusta, and many other relatives throughout Maine whom he loved dearly.

There will be a special Memorial Fund called “Levis’ Hugs” which is being setup by his parents to help educate people and those addicted or affected by addiction. Donations would be greatly appreciated as well as volunteers for outreach of educational materials, supportive resources, guidance, relapse prevention, rehab, counseling, podcasts, and community outreach. There is a HUGE need for a proactive multidimensional resource in our area, addiction is a disease with stigma, shame, and guilt, which is wrong and promotes relapse. Addiction prevention is ideally first but ultimately our mission is remission! It is more than a war on drugs but the fight to save lives!
