VFA Planning Initiative

Our Leadership Council has started a planning initiative to encourage more member involvement and making VFA more robust. We have titled it VFA 2026 planning group to take us beyond our next Triennial Meeting to the one after. 2023 and 2026 would also be the next expected Reunion years.

Goals: Who is VFA and what do we want to VFA to be?

Since the organization was an offshoot of Rita Lippe’s first Reunion in 1978 and her book “The Descendants of Francois Violet” in 1984 the collective belief was that we were a gathering of cousins with an emphasis on genealogy providing a collection of history and sharing amongst those cousins. One prime driving force that collectively addressed those goals was our Triennial Reunions. Do we/you want more?

Infrastructure:

As a family we are blessed with having a tremendous infrastructure of website https://violetteregistry.com/; Violette Family Association Facebook page; Violette Family Association Newsletter; and historical writings to support those goals.

But we wrestled with the question “what does an Association member get”?

Our Ideas:

We came up will various ideas like:

  • 1. publishing numerous photos that we/you have collected.
  • 2. more work and access to the greater Violette DNA code.
  • 3. publish articles about members’ background and activities.
  • 4. share recipes.
  • 5. Periodic Zoom social gathering surrounding an exciting/dynamic presentation.
  • 6. etc.

How can You help?

We need to reach out to the membership to determine what you want and/or would like to see from VFA?

We will develop a questionnaire for all members to be distributed after our next meeting.

Join us Now or send your ideas/comments directly to vicepresident@violettefamily.org

Next:

We want the VFA 2026 planning group to meet monthly for the next three months then transition into activity groups meetings as needed.

The next planning meeting will be via ZOOM 23 April 1400 EDT.
