    • DOM: Marriage Record
Anne Violette b. 13 Mar 1880 Van Buren, Maine d/o Basile Violette and Josephine Cote; d. 30 Mar 1880 would have a sister Emma born on 22 Jun 1882. In the 1900 census for Basile Violette, there is an Anne that is 18 years old, the age indicates this is actually Emma, but apparently the family had started calling her Anna. Later there is a marriage record of an Annie Violet d/o Basile Violet and Josephine Cote marrying a Joseph Dube on 5 Sept 1904. Her age is given as 22 which indicate she was born in 1882, the year that Emma was born. Both the 1900 census and the marriage record confirm that Emma was being called Anne.

In the 1900 census, there is an Anne d/o Basile Violette, born June 1882. Her sister, who was named Anne, died one month after her birth, so it appears Emma was being called Anne. This is complicated by a marriage record for an Anne d/o Basile Violette who married a Joseph Dube on 5 Sept 1904.
