  Esther Violette 1911-2008 Esther VioletteAt Foyer Saint-Joseph Nursing Home of Saint-Basile, November 9, 2008, Mrs. Esther Violette of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes passed away at the age of 96 years. She was the wife of the late Maxime Violette. Born at Siegas in 1911, she was the last surviving child of the late Steven and Annie Gauvin. Mrs. Violette was a member of the "Mouvement des femmes chrétiennes" of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes. She is survived by one son, Adrien (Gisele) of Riviere-Verte, three daughters, Rejeanne Caldwell (Dave) of Mars Hill, Maine, Simone Poitras of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes and Denise Violette (partner Gervais Dupuis) of Saint-François, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, nieces and nephews. Her funeral was held Wednesday, November 12th at 4 p.m. from the Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, with Father Roland Poitras officiating. The pallbearers were Philippe Poitras, Patrice Poitras, Bertin Violette, Charles Violette, Kevin Violette and Gervais Dupuis. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery.
