      Raymond Durand, 80, passed away Aug. 11, 2007, at a Bangor nursing facility. He was born Aug. 31, 1926, in Van Buren, the son of Joseph and Leonie (Violette) Durant. Raymond had lived in Hampden for many years and worked as a custodian for the University of Maine and Husson College. He loved nature, woodworking, playing canasta and easy listening music. Raymond was predeceased by his beloved wife, Dorothy E. (Bishop) Durand, Oct. 30, 2005. He is survived by a stepson, Richard Bell and his wife, Janet; and his sons, Myke Bell and wife, Jill and Jay Nunn and wife, Laurie; and great- grandchildren, Victoria, Austin, Joseph and Matthew; twin stepdaughters, Justina Saunders and Patricia Froehlich and their children, Lauri Messier, Hobart Saunders, Annette Locke, Christine Capes, Renee Potter, Karen Shearer and their respective spouses; and 13 great-grandchildren. He will be remembered as a beloved father, grandfather and great- grandfather. Goodbye Papa Ray, we will miss you. Visiting hours will be held 5-7 p.m. Monday at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday.
