ADHEMAR A. MADORE VAN BUREN – Adhemar A. Madore, 87, died Sept. 25, 2008, at the Maine Veterans' Home, Caribou. He was born April 12, 1921, in Van Buren, the son of Joseph and Rosalie (Lajoie) Madore. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post No. 49 of Van Buren. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1635 of Van Buren, a former member of Van Buren Lions Club, St. Bruno Choir Society and the Van Buren Fire Department. Adhemar was employed as a manager of the water treatment plant at Loring Air Force Base for 30 years. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors, especially with his sons. He is survived by three sons, Rodney Madore and his companion, Joan Dow, of Eagle Lake, John Madore and his wife, Gilda, of Bristol, Conn., and Davis Madore of Brewer; three daughters, Verna Ouellette and her husband, Nathan, and Patricia Roy, all of Van Buren, and Jackie Bubar and her husband, Wayne, of Fort Fairfield; one brother, Roger Madore of Bristol, Conn.; 12 grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
