Jeanne Levesque, 79, died Jan. 10 at a Van Buren health care facility. She was born in Van Buren, July 26, 1924, the daughter of Severin and Caroline (Cyr) Violette. Widowed at a young age, she raised her family of nine children by herself. She was kept busy by cleaning, sewing, gardening, and was a great cook and a mother most people would be proud of.’ She was employed by the Aroostook County Homemaker Services for a number of years and also worked at the Van Buren Drive-In Theater. She is survived by five daughters, Viola Ketch of Lewiston, Marie Ange Hartsgrove and her husband, David, of Waterboro, Claudia Thibodeau and her husband, Jimmy, of Van Buren; Lou Ann Skidgel and her husband, Clement, of Woodland, and Germaine Levesque, also of Van Buren; three sons, Nelson Levesque and his wife, Priscilla, of Sinclair; Richard Levesque and Alyre Levesque, Jr. and his wife, Debbie, all of Van Buren; six sisters: Annie Fongemie of Ft. Myers, Fla; Theresa Masse and Yvonne Masse, both of Plainville, Conn; Isabelle Beaupre and her husband, Fernand, of North Caribou; Stella Duplessis and her husband, Gerard, of Lewiston; two brothers Marc Violette and his wife, Helen, and Percy Violette and his wife, Fernande, all of Connecticut.; 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
