SANFORD Wilfred Violette 57 of Normand Avenue died Tuesday at his residence after a long illness. He was born in Brunswick a son of Wilfred and Blanche A Bourassa Violette and attended St School there. Mr. Violette served in the Army from 1962 to 1966 and in the Army National Guard in Connecticut until 1968. He was employed as a caretaker in schools in Bamstead NH. He was later employed at Thompson Center Arms in Rochester NH., for the past 12 years he had been working at Hussey Seating Co in North Berwick. Mr. Violette was a gardener fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed fly tying. Most recently he had been active in the local food pantries distributing food to the needy. He also enjoyed dressing up as Santa Claus during the holidays and distributing toys to the needy. He belonged to the 10th Militia Regiment of New Hampshire.
A son Lance Drury died in 1984 Mr fiancee was Joann Drury of Sanford.
He is survived by two sons William of Barstow Calif and Lawrence Jr of Springvale five daughters Monica Melton of Albuquerque NH, Michelle Shoop of Adelanto Calif., Laurie Rose of Rochester NH., Linda Quint of Sanford, and Liza A Johnson of Rochester, two brothers Raymond and Jean Paul both of Connecticut, two sisters Louise Saucier of Bristol Conn and Marie Martin of Connecticut, and several grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 am Saturday at Holy Family Church with the Rev Richard Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Berwick. Arrangements are by the Heald Funeral Home Springvale.
