Laurette VioletteAt Saint-Quentin, June 7, 2008, Mrs. Laurette (Thibodeau) Violette of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes passed away at the age of 90 years. She was the wife of the late Patrick Violette. Born at Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska in 1918, she was a daughter of the late Georges and Marie (Violette) Thibodeau.
Mrs. Violette was a founding member of the Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Caisse Populaire, now known as the Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes branch of the Caisse Populaire La Vallée. She was also an honorary member of the "Mouvement des femmes chrétiennes de Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes."
She is survived by her children, Gaetane (Leonard Dionne) of Connecticut, Anne Violette and Yolande Violette (Laurent Cayouette) of Saint-Quentin, Marie-Reine (Rosaire Ruest) of St-Jacques, Leola Violette of Moncton, Daniel (Realdine) of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes and Marguerite (Robert Cormier) of Saint-Leonard-Parent, 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Edburdge of New Hampshire, Condy (Pat), Alban (Carmen) and Aurele (friend Pauline) of Maine, as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Adelaide, Cecile, Alyre and Robert.
Her funeral was held Saturday, June 14th at 11 a.m. from the Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, with Father Roland Poitras officiating. The pallbearers were Jean-Claude Ruest, Gerald Voisine, Conrad Dionne, Francois Violette, Robert Violette and David Dionne. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery.
