Cécile Violette
At the Falls Villa (Grand Falls Manor), January 30, 2011, Mrs. Cecile Violette of Saint-Leonard passed away at the age of 95. She was the wife of the late Wilfred H. Violette. Born at Van Buren, Maine in 1915, she was a daughter of the late Philippe and Laura (Cormier) Michaud.
Mrs. Violette was a member of the Saint-Leonard Daughters of Isabella and of the Saint-Leonard Golden Age Club. She and her husband owned and operated several Ford/Mercury dealerships for several years while also operating the family farm.
She is survived by three children, Philip (Pauline) of Edmundston, Robert (Sylvia) of Grand Falls, Rachel Clair (James) of Fredericton, 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Joel, two brothers, Harvey Michaud and Rev. Lawrence Michaud and one sister, Irene Belanger.
Her funeral service was held Wednesday, February 2nd at 11 a.m. from the Saint-Leonard Roman Catholic Church with Father Roland Poitras officiating, assisted by Fathers Lucien Levesque, Bertrand Ouellet and Frederic Poitras. The pallbearers were Gilles Clair, Greg Violette, Michel Violette, Luc Violette, Daniel Violette and Terry Toner. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery. An honour guard was formed by members of the Daughters of Isabella.
