MONTICELLO - David Wayne Violette, 58, died Sept. 22, 2008, in Littleton. He was born Dec. 14, 1949, in Houlton, the son of Joseph and Margaret (Melville) Violette. David graduated from Houlton High School in 1969 and Eastern Maine Tech in 1971. He was in the Army National Guard for 32 years and was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church, Monticello, where he served on the board of trustees and was currently serving as president of the church cooperation. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, the royal ranger program at church, spending time with his grandchildren, his dachshunds, and he always had a project in progress for his family and church. He was employed as superintendent of building at Aroostook County Courthouse, Houlton In addition to his parents of New Limerick he is survived by his wife of 37 years, Norma (Foster) Violette of Monticello; three children, Laurel and his wife, Holly Violette, of Houlton, Chris and his wife, Jennifer Violette, of Littleton, and Rebekah and her husband, Brad Lambert, of Houlton; seven grandchildren, Jordan, Alannah, Grace, Kora, CJ, Emily and Summer; two brothers, Peter Violette, his wife, Liz, of Fredericksburg, Va., and Glenn and his wife, Trish Violette, of Littleton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Michelle Emily Violette. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Calvary Pentecostal Church, Monticello, with the Rev. Darrell Williams officiating.
