The engagement of Miss Jean Parent to Frederick Eastman of Hardwick is announced by her fther, Wilfred C. Parent. Miss Parent is the daughter of the late Mrs. Lillian Parent. Her fiance is the son of Mrs. Gwendolyn Eastman and the late Fred Eastman.

Jean G. Eastman HARDWICK Jean Gladys Eastman 54, of Linden, N.J., and formerly of Hardwick, died Friday in Linden following a long illness.
She was born in Waltham, on Nov. 9, 1933, the daughter of Wilfred and Lillian (Karron) Parent. She attended Hardwick public schools and Hardwick Academy. On April 14, 1950, she married Frederick Eastman in Hardwick. Following their marriage, she and her husband moved to New Jersey.
She is survived by her husband, Frederick, of Linden; one daughter, Sandra Eastman, Linden, N.J.; four sons, Robert Eastman, Havlock N.C., Ronald Eastman, Lewiston, Roy Eastman and Raymond, Eastman, Rahway, three grandchildren; her father, Wilfred Parent, Greensboro; two sisters, Doris Bartlett, Greensboro, and Edna Longley, Newburgh, N.Y.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral mass will be offered on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Norbert's Roman Catholic Church in Hardwick with the Rev. Donald Ritchie officiating.
Internment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Hardwick. Visiting hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Northern Vermont Funeral Home in Hardwick. liturgy service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
