Marie Rose Martin, 57, entered into rest peacefully on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at a Presque Isle hospital, following a long illness. She was born on October 25, 1960, in Grand Falls, NB, Canada, a daughter of the late Emile and Corinne (Violette) Martin.
Rose worked for Tulsa, Van Buren, for over 25 years as a cashier and delighted in chumming with her many regular customers. She was a parishioner of St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Faith was paramount in her everyday living and she was especially proud to do her Cursillo in 1995 in Frenchville. Rose enjoyed tending to her vegetable garden and spending time visiting her sisters and relatives.
She is survived by one sister, Emelie Martin of Van Buren; and two special cousins, Richard Levesque of Houlton, formerly of Van Buren, and Alyre Levesque Jr. of Van Buren; as well as many cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Besides her parents, Rose was predeceased by two sisters, Therese and Pauline Martin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 29, 2018, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Church, 174 Main St., Van Buren. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose's name may be made to St. Bruno-St. Remi Parish Needs, c/o Knights of Columbus, 284 Main St., Van Buren, ME 04785.
