BUSSA, Louis C. , Jr. CHOVNICK, Arthur Louis C. Bussa, Jr., 73, of South Glastonbury, be loved husband of Patricia (Violette) Bussa, died Saturday (Sept. 10, 2011) at the Glastonbury Health Care Center. Born October 22, 1937 in Hartford, son of the late Louis C, Sr. and Virginia (Ferrando) Bussa, he was a lifelong resident of South Glastonbury. Lou was a third generation fruit grower and owned and operated Bussa Orchards in South Glastonbury. Lou graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1959 was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity and received the HCC Miles Scholarship in 1958. He was a member of the CT. Pomological Society and had served as an auditor for them for many years and was awarded a certificate of distinction in 2007. He was a member of the Matson Hill Community Club and served on the Glastonbury Agriculture Advisory Committee. He was a member of St. Augustine Church where he was a collector at the five o'clock mass. Lou was a past member of the Lion's Club and the Square Dance Club and was an avid fan of UCONN girl's basketball. He had been a member of the National Guard in Mid-dletown. Besides his wife he is survived by 2 sons; David John Bussa and his wife, Jenifer Dutton Bussa of Glastonbury and Douglas Louis Bussa of South Glastonbury; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Anna Violette of Rocky Hill and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will be Tuesday (Sept. 13, 2011) 9:15 a.m. from the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Rd., South Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Green Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the funeral home TODAY from 4-8. p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Rd., South Glastonbury, CT. 06073.
