Violette, Kathleen Verina "Kay" 87, of Longmont, died May 25, 2010 in Longmont. She was born December 7, 1922 in Bidford on Avon, England the daughter of Albert and Florence (Gibbs) Gould. Kay married Charles Joseph Violette on July 12, 1945 in Leamington Spa, England. Kay was a WWII war bride and arrived in the United States on March 3, 1946 aboard the Queen Mary. Kay worked for Brede Sign Company as a switchboard operator. She then worked for Barrett Moving and Storage for 35 years as an account supervisor. Kay was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her daughter Penny Carbert, parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by her two sons, Michael and his wife Cathie of Longmont, Colorado and Richard of Boynton Beach, Florida and her son-in-law Duane Carbert. She is further survived by four grandchildren, Tom Violette and his wife Heather, Brandie (Violette) Puraty and her husband Mitch, Terra Carbert and Christine Carbert. Kay had four great-grandchildren, Clayton Carbert- Sandberg, Ryan and Sophia Violette and Addison Puraty. Memorial services will be held to celebrate her life on Monday, June 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1310 Main Street, Hopkins, Minnesota. A private inurnment will follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. The family is requesting donations be made to HospiceCare Center of Boulder and Broomfield Counties, 2594 Trailridge Drive East, Lafayette, CO 80026 for its kind and loving care of Kay during her illness.
